    Higher Learning...2

I raced through this issue just like I did the first.  I must say, it did not disappoint.
Emma is still the girl trying to fit in.  She's working hard on her grades, but it seems everyone is against her.  Everyone but a teacher that seems to care about her.  Wants to help her succeed.  For most of the issue, she's still a normal girl, there are no signs of the mutant to come.  It really is a story about a girl fighting to fit in and fighting to get some respect from an uncaring mother and an over dominating  father.  It's sad to think there are parents out there that just have kids and then never spend any time with them.  Ok, I'm digressing.
Emma starts to assert herself.  I liked that.  She's getting some spunk to her and I think that's coinciding with her mutant powers starting to reveal themselves.   She's starting to hear other people's thoughts.  It's giving her an edge, both in her studies and her dueling... not only with the epee's (fencing) but also with her nemesis in school.
I must say, this story has definitely drawn me in.  I'm trying to find copies of the next issues out there, so I can continue reading it.
I want to find out what happens next.
