    Operation Desert Scarlet

Rucka has transformed this into a military operation, since one of Elektra´s pursuers are a Colonel from the U.S. Military, he has called a whole unity to hunt down her, but things won´t be easy as he thought as Elektra puts up a lot of fight, using her ninja skills to get tons of advantage over the "high" trained military men - actually she toys with them in a way it´s humilating, she does whatever pleaser her and she has discovered her inner strength and desire to live again. Actually this was kind of the bad part of this issue, since after all the desert fever/Jesus/Jerry Garcia/Jim Morrison kind of ilumination and high conscience that happened last issue, there was no moment in this issue to explain how and why did she recover the desire to live and to kill again, that was a little lame of the writer (perhaps in the conclusion he shares a little of that). I´m giving this rate because of the art: Carlo Pagulayan really showed a lot of upgrade from his first issue in Elektra to this one, it´s visible the evolution in his style, also this was a heat packed action issue, what helped him doing his scenes. The dialogues were quick and nothing spectacular, due to the content of the story, this wasn´t the best issue so far, just a necessary step so that Elektra gets her revenge on Mr. Locke...or perhaps forgive him? Next issue.
