Ekuar is one of the gifted Rockshapers, who was kidnapped by Guttlekraw after his elf-tribe was slaughtered by the Ice-Trolls. After Rayek abdicated from the Sun Village, he journeyed far until he met and rescued Ekuar in a Troll-Den.
