There is a lot of people who do not want Goku to be the one to win the tournament. Idk why.

DBZ is about Goku, it's always been about Goku.

Why are so many people for Gohan, or 17, or someone to be the main character? It's never made sense.

Goku will be the final universe 7 warrior and idk how that isn't obvious.

Not against but would rather see their favorites win. Goku is sort of like Medaka from Medaka Box. In all honesty he isn't a good character but the supporting characters are much more fleshed out and enjoyable. So it isn't about hating Goku just enjoying different characters.

Because he's a loser.

I've always wondered this too. It might just be me but I've never seen a main character get as much hate as Goku does for beating the villain or just being the one doing the best against the villain. Usually all I see is "Why isn't vegeta getting the kill? Why does Vegeta always have to lose to Goku?Why is Goku the main character, Vegeta should be the main character." and blah blah blah and all this other crap. Its like this all the time.

I'm not saying other characters shouldn't get a chance in the spotlight but come on this is Goku's series. The MC usually gets the win.

@jaycool2: it's mostly cause Toriyama is bad at letting other characters have any spotlight. Other series the supporting cast gets moments to be a badass however in DBZ unless you are Goku you are fodder or those that they do beat are so usless that it's laughable to even use that to let the character shine.

@seagod: Vegeta got a huge moment to shine by stomping black. Gohan got a big win in the exhibition match.

Vegito is the strongest character in DBZ, does that mean DBZ is about him? Being the strongest doesn't make the show about you.

Because Shonen Jump kept making him continue the product. I think you missed the point of nonfused character and then the whole we have to make them defuse because of plot.

It also blows my mind how against ass pulls for Goku people are.

Gohan and 17 multiply their power by 100s if not 1000s of times in an episode, makes sense.

Goku uses kk x10, awful ass pull makes no sense.

Um, you know Goku would have got stomped worse right? You know Goku couldn't even beat Super Buu? You know if Gohan was there to fight Kid Buu, Kid Buu gets stomped hard...

It makes more sense for Gohan than anyone else because we have seen him show multiple times show untapped potential

Goku is my fav. protagonist of all time.

But I'm rooting for Hit in the tournament cuz he is badass af.

The tournament will have Goku vs jiren as the finale. Goku will limit break and it'll be epic and about Goku like it should be.

I'm not denying gohan wasn't stronger, I'm saying he isn't the main character, no one wanted him to be.

The show is about Goku, so I don't know why people get mad and surprised when the show revolves around him.

PS: Goku participated in 5 Tournaments up until now and only got to win one of them if i remember correctly.

I personally want goku to win this tournament and that his next transformation will be exclusive for him. but i believe that neither will happen cuz toriyama want's Vegeta and Goku to be almost on the same level for ever.

Korin is the oldest character on the show, he is 730 Y.O ..... then there is Roshi's turtle: 543 Y.O ... then Roshi himself is 350 Y.O

No one is mad about Goku being the main character, it is expected. With DBS, it almost feels as if everyone is irrelevant in comparison to Goku. This was not the case in Z. For me personally, I'd like to see others at least show they're useful. Take Vegeta for example, for how strong he is it seems he get's clowned on every single arc to prop up the new baddie. Which is always followed up by Goku beating the 'baddie' in question. Gohan and the rest have been basically fodder.

Goku winning is just as predictable, if not more since he is the main character and all.

He won against Tien and Piccolo in two separate tournaments.

It would be nice for Goku to win. But far from a 'Holy Crap!' moment. Now if Frieza, or even Vegeta won the tournament for U7 that would catch everyone by surprise.

Everyone is expecting Goku or Jiren to win, based on the intro. No big surprise if either does in fact take home the gold.

Goku's limit break will set him up to fight the mortal that's stronger than their GoD.

If that isn't the final arc then one final arc with frieza or something will be it.

Krillin is my fav character, but it wouldn't make sense for him to beat Jiren, I just expect a good showing from him, and maybe I do have a lil hope that Gohan gets another of his moments since along with Piccolo they are some of my most liked characters.

However, it would be cool that things don't work in Goku's favor for once, if only to bring "suspense" to the series again. Super is sorely lacking in stakes, and has been since its beginning. This arc should've been the direst moment of the franchise, and yet... it doesn't inspire that feeling of dread, as the saiyans, Frieza or others have along the series. Goku failing to win the tournament would be a "shit just got real" moment, and that would be cool.

Because its predictable writing to have him come out on top of the tournament and not learning anything or having any repercussions.

I personally don't want him to win because that would mean he somehow beat Jiren... which shouldn't be allowed if Jiren is truly as strong/stronger than a GoD. In addition, I'd rather see someone else in the spotlight

"Oh look protagonist XYZ overcomes a problem he helped create and is indifferent about again, lets have him win instead of having the person we hyped up to win actually defeat him. We can keep his character development or any potentially new feedback from this arc at bay by having him win".

it effectively halts the story if goku magically beats someone stronger than a GoD because there is no one else that is going to be a threat unless you want goku to defeat zeno.
