Bills actually displayed the best speed feat so far. It was easy to miss but it's right there in the second episode. Whis is travelling to another planet while Bills waits in his palace. Whis was given 3 minutes to go get dinosaur meat. Bills then gets impatient and travels that entire distance in seconds.
It also looks like the Gohan vs SS3 Goku debate is over:
@misterguyman: gohan can go ham on both Goku n veggie
@misterguyman: gohan can go ham on both Goku n veggie
He can do anything he wants but according to Vegeta, Gohan would lose- ham or not.
@misterguyman: Vegeta also said he became the second strongest, which I found unlikely.

He was saying that Goku was number one even before the Buu saga ended in his monologue. It's obvious that he isn't really counting Gohan. I'm pretty sure Gohan is now weaker than Goku, but far more powerful than Vegeta.
@raizel: it's explained in xenoverse that technique is used for dimensional travel. Kaio realm and other world don't exist in the physical universe.
@comicstooge: why mention those three? I already know that
I'm specifically talking about coming to 1 thread that discusses a series on a site where what if battles are made every day, and then saying that's the only reason a series exists is for that reason
Well, the fact that battles are made here doesn't change the fact that Dragon Ball Super is terrible and utterly pointless.
1) Starting your series off on filler isn't a good way to begin. Again:
The only identifiable plot line so far is Goku getting a lot of money. When the plot line of your show mirrors the last season of Roseanne, you know you've jumped the shark.
2) Lol, how original. Where the characters are either fat or gender-bent?
3) Lmao, just fighting? How thought provoking. That's never been done before in Dragon Ball.
4) What development? Literally nothing has changed
5) Just an explanation of his new hairstyle? Great
6) There's 100 episodes of this trash? Yay. I'm sure the forums will be polluted more and more with each episode.
1.what filler? The series is staring after 13 years, we needed to know what happened Goku after killing buu. That's basically the introduction of the characters and prepping them . There are tons of animes that don't start of with the main plot ,
2. lol nice downplay . We know nothing about the other universe or the characters apart from their appearance , that's the reason it's hyped. Gender bender ! Lol We would be lucky if the series resembles anything like the Manga Db multiverse .
3. if that doesn't sound exiting to you, I suggest you stop reading shonen, assuming if you ever did. You basically dissed the most anticipated part of the gern, it's like saying who wants to see Hulk fight in the avengers -_-
4. seriously? it's literally just the second episode. both gt and z had tons of character development so will Db super . Also when was the last time you saw Goku working to support his family, when was the last time you saw a emotionally shut in like vegeta actually go on a family vacation.
5. Yep, and that's not even a sarcasm that transmission is awesome.
6.its already better than most of toies shows and leagues above the current comic issues , who's current trend is either making their characters literally gay , sex change and destroy their character completely.
1) It was an episode about 2 children fighting a snake and finding water. Riveting.
2) Big deal? I mean, it's still childish garbage. The flashy colours, the lame humour, the character designs, the characters themselves, the themes just point to the show being designed for toddlers. Not seeing how anyone above the age of 6 enjoys it, but that's just me.
3) The fight has to be hyped up or carry some manner of weight. BOG's fight scene was over freaking pudding.
This is how to do an epic fight scene that conveys emotion:
I mean, it's literally fighting for fight's sake. No rhyme or reason other than to flash pretty colours.
3) Support his family? He made his toddler son drive a tractor, which he promptly sent over a cliff. He'd sooner adandon his family to fight some more than spend any real time with them. If neutering Vegeta is what you call development, then sure. I'm not a big fan of DBZ, but even I admit some of his scenes aren't too bad.
But no, that's gone now. Instead, Vegeta eats ice cream and sings 'Let's be friends'. Pathetic.
5) That transformation is the only reason the series exists. No other reason.
6) Lol, at least they had character to begin with. Try actually picking up a comic sometime. There may be problems within the industry, but even the worst Batman series looks like Picasso next to Dragon Ball Super.
Dragon Ball Super is missing a word at the end of the title and that word is 'Terrible'.
@misterguyman: Vegeta also said he became the second strongest, which I found unlikely.
I think Vegeta said something more like "I will not accept simply beine the second best" which isn't actually quite the same as claiming that he's the second best at the moment.
Moreover by the time Bills comes to Earth, Vegeta is already stronger than Gohan. That might be as soon as the next episode according to the storyboards that have been leaked online.
@misterguyman: I guess we interpret it different ways.
It's just me or Whis implies he's from another universe?
@raizel: He probably is from another universe.
Funny, looks like we are watching different subs of the same episode.
This is what it said when I watched it.
@mysticmedivh: Mistranslation.There is also another mistranslation in that sub.Old Kai says 30 million years in this sub but it should be 39 years.(dialogue about how many years Beerus sleep)
@mysticmedivh: Mistranslation
But which one is the wrong one?
@mysticmedivh: Yours
@raizel: I see. By the way, how can you tell?
@mysticmedivh: I saw on reddit a lot of people said it's a mistranslation.Then Dragon Team made proper one.

1.A episode placed in dbz peace time. they showed gohan was going to get married to videl ,introducing the god of destruction , goku starting to train again, all aimed towards bog time line .
2 . Right, that's as accurate as saying toriko (has the same art style) is targeted for food porn addicts and obese children, Lol " designed for toddlers" low quality b8bm8 are you implying any anime isn't targeted for younger audiences or that the db marketing team chose to update on Twitter because toddlers use Twitter. Most of the fan base are already enjoying this.
3. what kind of absurd argument is this, you are comparing a fight scen from 600 episode anime to a 1 hour movie, you can never get that amount of depth in a movie. Bog was entirely about super sayin God. What? That was a bar fight, and wasn't even the first fight in the movie. It went exactly as I would expect. Rof was about revenge.
4. Rolf. Goten is 8 year old ssj who's already strong enough to destroy planets, gohan at the age of 4 hunted dinosaurs and could destroy the moons. If goku can drive a race bike at 11 and bulma can drive a submarine at 14. Then I don't see anything wrong with him driving a tractor. "abandon his family" he just left to train,which is what he's been doing most of his life. Bottom line his family accepts his lifestyle and love him. And salty much? That scene with vegeta was priceless and a excellent gag. Vegetas outburst in bog was times more epic.
5.*facepalm* ssjgss isn't going to be a part of the first half of the series, we'll be lucky we get to ROF time-line within 6 months .
The only reason we are getting the series is because both bog and ROF broke records. Rof earned 50.5 million dollars in comparison " naruto : the last" earned 17million. Despite your rant you can't ignore the fact that dbz is very popular.
6. Begin with, they just retell the same story with a different vibe the franchise has been doing that since the creation of the multiverse. Many of the issues are dull, boring and lacks any depth compared to current Mangas. The multiverse was just a cheep way for the franchise to sell more comics.. 1) And none of it was good.
2) It can be targeted towards younger people without pandering them. Batman TAS was targeted to children and some of the most dark and thought provoking moments of any kids show of it's time. DBZ is hardly above Yo Gaba Gaba at this point with it's childishness. It made $50 million and beat Naruto? Congrats, so did plenty of other movies that were terrible.
3) Of course you can get that sort of depth in a movie, not that BOG even tried.
4) Me pointing out something awful is not me being salty. If he's been doing it most of his life, he hasn't developed as a character at all. You can't say he's developed but then say he's the same, lol. Just because they're numb to the fact he's an awful person doesn't make him good. Lol, what excellent gag? It was cringe worthy.
5) One Piece has sold vastly more than DBZ in terms of manga sales. I guess that means it's the greatest manga ever, right?
6) Lol, ignoring the fact that a story like Crisis on Infinite Earths, Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis get looked on pretty favourably? Honestly, if there was one thing that encompassed what's so wrong with the DBZ fanbase, it's your final point. Whenever anyone even suggests that the series is awful, the fanbase collectively sticks it's fingers in it's ears, says "LALALALA. CAN'T HEAR YOU." and calls everything else you care to name terrible, when they can't see that the series they support so bad is worse than anything the opposition would care to name. I mean, it doesn't matter that the "dull" comicbooks inspire movies that make upwards of a billion dollars (while DBZ can't crack even a tenth of that) or produce literary masterpieces like Watchman, the Dark Knight Returns and the Sandman, because DBZ has pretty colours, hairstyles and laser beams. I mean, they lie to themselves and say that it has "simple themes" or that the series is "consistent" as if that reflects any real quality when the stories are so simple a 7 year old could make them. You wanna talk about depth? The three highest selling mangas of all time are One Peice, Dragon Ball and Naruto. Combined, they have the depth of a child's blow up swimming pool. I might like Naruto as a guilty pleasure, but I'd never try to delude myself into thinking it holds a candle to the better stuff produced by the comic book industry.
The irony of you saying that comics are "cheaply" trying to sell more comics is unbelievable, considering your defending one of the most shameless, petty cash grabs in recent memory.
@comicstooge: neuturing vegeta? How is sacrificing his pride in order to protect his family (actual character development) "neuturing him"

The singing scene was outright cringe worthy. Such a scene would be better portrayed in a more serious light, instead of in a sing and dance number.
@comicstooge: no, it wouldn't
The entire point of the scene was that he had to humiliate himself to keep beerus occupied. He swallowed up his pride and did what he had to to protect everyone (which is mentioned later on by beerus and goku)

had to side with stooge on this one. his whole singing parts feels too forced. it's one of the few cringe worthy moments of the movie for me.
I thought episode 2 was good, but episode 1 was better. I really like the theme and credits songs. They're catchy. I hope they don't change them for the English version.
Jesus Christ guys, can we have a DBZ thread without all this nonsense? Just appreciate it for what it is. No need to dissect the show or some crap.

What I want from DB Super is amazing feats. I wanna see Beerus wipe away a solar system or destroy a star or move from planet to planet in literally a second.I want goku to get hit by a planet and survive.Im getting tired of people saying they can destroy stuff and never do it in dbz. But I like the feats in the first two episodes.

Beerus taps a planet and destroys half of it, then flies off and is hundreds of kilometers away in seconds. Then he goes to another planet in faster than light speeds and destroys it with an energy blast the size of a golf ball. Meanwhile, Goku is pushing three weights the size of a room each in 10x gravity and the next episode preview shows him lifting weights the size of house. Several feats in the first two episodes of Super that are already far better than anything done in the original series.
@omega_kai: I saw the same sentences on kanzenshuu :P
I think God Goku vs Beerus fight will have a lot of good feats (maybe fight across solar system) considering like you said we have already better feats than db manga.

Ya I know that's where I got it from it was a really good explanation and it was totally true. Cause the only way you could how powerful someone was in DBZ was by powerscaling.
@omega_kai: I saw all those feats but busting planets is frieza level I'm impressed but not fully impressed.Plus those are beerus feats, but the lifting feats for goku are getting better they knock out that 40 tons gag feat.Those weights should weigh at least 2000 tons.

Lol, that's exactly what I mean when I say that the DBZ fanbase tries to bring down every other fictional story down to it's level of trash to justify liking it, when it's about as mature as any other show for toddlers. I've wasted so much time on this discussion that I could've spent doing worthwhile things.
@flashback0180: Did you just say that Under the Red Hood has 10 times less depth than a Naruto fight?
Wat
@johnfrank120: He's just trolling.
Question
Why do people count the 40 tons feat against goku (much less say it's his max)? Do people not know about how those types of exercises work?
@comicstooge: why do you repeatedly come into dragon ball threads to troll and bash it's fanbases?
@raizel: Ah, ok.

Because it's only countable lifting strength feat in DBZ.So a lot of people assumed it's his limit as base.Toriyama generally give low numbers when it's comes to weights for example Piccolo's clothes weights just 100 kg :P
These numbers are actually inconsistent because characters pretty much can destroy hills,cliffs,mountains with their punch alone which requires force more than 40 ton.Hope AT finally understand this and give big numbers in episode 3.

Hopefully he gives a lot feats in DBS for all characters not just Goku and Vegeta.

Lifting is not a strong suit for Z fighters and the in-universe explanation is that there's a natural limit to strength. To go beyond that they have to focus and manipulate their Ki. During Goku's fight against Chase and Burtur, Vegeta noticed that Goku was raising his Ki instantly and lowering it again so fast that no one else could notice it. Why? To conserve Ki. So Z fighters can punch really hard in an explosive force but if they want to lift an object they have to continually exert Ki which, in a fight, is inefficient.
Also the Super Exciting Guide explains that Bukujutsu, which is Goku's technique for flight, is inherently difficult with weights. The technique works because it makes Goku's body lighter than air which does nothing to actually lift the weights since it mostly affects Goku's body.
