What i don't uderstand is why would the RR Army attack Gohan? It's goku who destroyed their army not Gohan. Are they attacking him to get to goku? In that case, why aren't they attacking Goten too instead of Piccolo?

Maybe it has to do with the fact that Gohan destroyed Cell, their ultimate weapon.

I'm more shocked by the fact that android 17 was able to match Goku ssb (beyond god) by training against squirrels.

The way I see it is that it's not really supposed to be a major visual change. The form is described as having his hidden potential unleashed in a similar fashion to Gohan.

You could say this is like LB Jiren or Awakened Granolah/Gas I guess
