So in the new DBS Broly movie, when Goku and vegeta transform into super saiyans or SSG. You can see a flash of green energy and their hair turns greenish like Broly's does.

Paragus explains Brolys power to freeza. It looks like Goku and Vegeta may be able to increase their power by tapping into great ape without transforming into great ape form.

This explanation for the new Broly is much better than before. This explains why he nearly loses his mind when he transforms because he's tapping into the great ape power. His mind is somewhat reverting into the great ape while in human form.

First Question: Do you believe this explanation could be applied to the first version of Broly, if only in headcanon?

Second Question: Since this is tapping into a known resource, would you consider Broly's transformation a x10 or at least near that because that's the commonly held multiplier for Great Ape form? Or do you think it would have to be far greater than that to make sense?

Third Question: Do you think this could be tapped into for future forms, such as a blend with SS4 types, Broly types, or perhaps something else entirely?

Glad this idea has finally been introduced. I strongly hoped this would be applied to the U6 Saiyans as a reason for them being so naturally powerful, due to them evolving past tails entirely.

1. It does seem like it can be applied to original broly, but only head canon. I'm sure Toriyama used original concept of broly to make sense of the "berserker" type saiyans, but has now also added this great ape power tapping to it. Kale will probably be mentioned at some point as using great ape power without transforming. He introduced S-Cells to explain "gentle" saiyans learning SS so quickly.

S-Cells (S細胞, Esu Saibō) are microscopic cells found in most Saiyans. The amount of S-Cells depends on the spirit of the Saiyan in question: the more gentle the spirit, the greater the amount of S-Cells; alternatively, when a Saiyan increases their battle power, it can also increase the amount of S-Cells in their body. S-Cells are essential to becoming a Super Saiyan, and when a Saiyan has gained enough they can transform by feeling intense levels of anger or sadness; alternatively (as demonstrated by Caulifla), by focusing their power into a tingling sensation in their upper-back (directly below their neck) the Saiyan in question can trigger the transformation into a Super Saiyan without the need for emotional stress. S-Cells can be passed down through genetics, making it easier for even partial Saiyans, such as Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr., to become Super Saiyans.

2. The 10x great ape increase may only apply to a full ape transformation or may get retconned. I don't know. Base Broly survived a battle with SSG Vegeta and then tapped into great ape power and was easily stronger than SSG, that may have been a 10x increase. Then he transforms into a super saiyan on top of that.

3. Who knows with toriyama? He has no problems taking ideas from non canon sources and making them canon. Many transformations are sort of like a "gag" thing with DB. I wouldn't doubt if we see a SS4 type transformation or at the very least a minor transformation. Maybe they'll just get different animal like eyes/pupils or something. Brolys pupils changed once he started using ape power.
