it seems to be pretty obvious if you pay attention to the series

1. Nappa was able to resist TK because he was more powerful thank Chiaotzu

2. Vegeta was able to resist Mind come because he really power

3. Vegito was able to resist magic/being turned into a ball of candy

4. Goku/Jiren could resist Time skip because they were powerful

All relative to both the Ki user and the ability used on them.

2. could be argued that Vegeta's Will was a part of him resisting the Mind Control. We even see Dabura had been impacted by it, yet Dabura was not that far off from in terms of power compared to Vegeta, and in a base comparison is much great than Vegeta.

Some abilities still work just fine though, as we have seen Gohan impacted by Lavenders poison claws, with Goku and Vegeta both using aura to protect themselves. This can help t back that Ki can provide protection from such unique attack.

Yet not all abilities seem to be protected by Ki, as we have seen battle ready Ki users impacted by Solar Flare. So it does show that not everything is entirely resisted, but many should apply.

The Dragon Ball series lacks the diversity that something like comics has, giving us a more linear viewpoint of abilities rather than the massive diversity that comes from such diversity.

Ki (Ki is "hax") and an strong will = 90% of hax won't work

Maybe the aura of destruction also works VS hax... Idk.
