Cell has Frieza's DNA he has the potential to obtain golden form if he trains like Frieza.

@roriia: You could also look at it this way; Cell has Saiyan and Freeza dna and he needed 17 & 18 to become perfect, if 17 can reach god level power training for 10 years and Freeza can do it in 4 months then imagine Cell's potential gains, he'd probably outright surpass Beerus in about a week or two.

Not necessarily. It seems they don't care about multipliers at all, so all we know is Vegito is quite a bit stronger than Goku and Vegeta. Just going off of how strong he looked, he seemed to definitely be less than 100x stronger.

@midnightdragon18: The guides tend to give conflicting information in regards to the Potara multipliers. One guide even hints that Vegetto is equivalent to Goku's power multiplied by Vegeta's, which is absurd based on actual showings.

Cell was one of the best villains, and if anything he's a villain that can more reasonably come back through some BS Sci-Fi explanation, whereas Frieza was revived by the Dragon Balls, the magical plot device that is only used when it's convenient.

Cell would probably be an amazing reoccurring villain for a series like Dragon Ball. Not only is he a remnant of one of Goku's oldest enemies, he has the closest connection to the people of earth and the Z-fighters. Along with his intellect and quick thinking, making his role more coniving like that of Zamasu would be interesting to see.

Speaking of Frieza, what's the story on that? I heard he's coming back???

I don't really have a problem with Frieza, I think he's alright, but the thing that pissed me off is that for at least 10 episodes or more the series hyped us up for Buu to take part in this tournament, then all of a sudden some BS writing gets tossed in and Buu can't participate by Frieza suddenly can an episode later? It felt extremely last minute and out of nowhere. The reason why I don't mind Frieza getting on the team, in general, is because he was already re-introduced in ROF/DBS and was a reoccurring villain(something Dragon Ball needs more of anyway) so he's already an established combatant and powerhouse that can keep up with the rest of the fighters easily. Cell would have randomly came in while being severely weaker than some notable combatants while stronger than most which is fine, but it doesn't make much sense. The reason why someone could feel sick about Frieza is that his face has appeared time and time again. If you really think about it, Universe 7 had to deal with Frieza at least 3 times, the fourth being the tournament of power, and as great as it is to have a legit reoccurring villain, someone more interesting character wise like Cell and even Buu(who was supposed to come in the first place) would have been better choices to fit in this arc. I feel the reason they went with this decision is because they had no particular ways to make the arc interesting without a conflict of interest, that being the traitor which is Frieza.

I would love to see Cell return. He was my favorite of the Z era villains by far with a very interesting development cycle, though I always felt his Imperfect form was the best design of the three. I loved that power draining murder tail.

I also feel like he'd be more on board with playing nice with the good guys in the universal tournament. It's a chance for him to test his limits against the strongest fighters in all the universes and see just how far he can push himself to new heights. Unlike Frieza or Buu, Cell has the Saiyan fighting. His entire motivation was to achieve perfection and then test the limits of that perfection.

Rather see a universe 6 version of cell, him being a cocky good guy would be cool.

I can’t believe how many said yes, we need new characters not already washed up existing ones.

Cell was a good character while he lasted, but it took them TWO tries to get a Frieza redo right and I still think they’ve messed up handling Buu being in the continuing plot. Even if part of me missed Cell, and part of me does, I would definitely not want them to bring back Cell just to mess up our perspective of him or taint his name in our eyes.

He kinda did already...in DragonBall FighterZ. It takes place between the Future Trunks and ToP arcs. Granted, it's not canon, but still it's something at least.
