Dragon Ball Super has multiple forms of media like movies, manga and anime series that tells its stories. Here's a chronological order that picks the best ones in my opinion to give the most enjoyable experience from Dragon Ball Super.

Battle of Gods Arc

-Dragon Ball Super episode 1-2

-Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods movie

First two episodes of Dragon Ball Super tell us what happened to characters after the Buu Saga while presenting new threat in the background while movie itself gives a quick overview of it already, first two episodes of DBS does it much better and goes way more in depth like (SPOILERS) informing us about Gohan and Videl marriage, Goku having a job, Vegeta being a father or Satan explaining who is Buu to worlds population.

Movie pick ups right after episode 2 telling rest of the story with much better pacing and way more pleasant animation and art style. Another thing movie does better than the series is giving us a chance to look at Goku's character in new light, something that was completely thrown out of the series.

Resurrection of F Arc

For this one I really encourage to watching a fan cut that combines scenes from anime and movie creating one final product called "Resurrection F - super cut". If you don't want to or can't find it, here is an alternative:

-Dragon Ball Super episodes 16-18

-Dragon Ball Z Resurrection of F movie

Just like previously episodes 16, 17 and 18 nicely builds up events that are about to happen in Ressurection of F movie answering some of the questions that were left after the movie. Those episodes are one of the funniest ones in the series aswell.

As for the movie, it does again way better job at animation and art. Anime version is one of the worst experiences for your eyes in the entire franchise.

This is the point where arcs stopped having movie adaptations, manga on the other hand started having longer chapters and adapt the story in it's own way. At this point you can either stick to one or the other. Both have it's ups and downs, list below is my take that takes the best parts from both materials.

Universe 6 Arc

@gaoron: none, everything sucks besides goku black arc. Even with plot force characters they still manage to mess it all up. the fights were good tho. IMO i prefer GT.

Nah Black arc was actually the worst one, BS plot holes and power ups, boring story, generic antagonist. It started pretty good but half way through it become too much of a mess with constant back and forth time travels, gaggy situations with Goku forgetting stuff or unexplained asspulls like Trunks form and spirit sword or Black scythe. If anything good came out of Super it's BoG movie, Hit and small parts of ToP which hopefully gonna advance from decent/bad to good when dub catches up to it.

@gaoron: For some reason I liked Black Goku arc, I would still vote TOP arena basically the fights involving Jiren to be the most interesting part. I was so thrilled and was in suspense on how they would take Jiren down.

@gaoron: bizarre indeed, it is still unknown how the position of being an attendant to a kaioshin or a kaio itself makes a saiyan able to transform into saiyan God rosé not blue, and what the differences between the forms, and it is still unknown whether gowasu was talking about the person from universe 12, or an unknown person as time travel was mentioned or whether it was trunks as in DB, trunks/cell time travel caused 5 timelines, which is confusing as a bloody drink in a stormy night while watching boku no pico, it's just there, jokes aside, the timeline 1 where trunks went to timeline 2 and destroyed the android and got back to be killed by cell, timeline 3 that was caused by cell time traveling before trunks point of time travel to prevent the destruction of the androids and timeline 4 that was caused by cell.....for the love of hades, this is complex as the definition goes, screw it, it's 5 timelines, and GT was fair, it just had a lot of contradiction and alternative setting and only canon via arale, that would make it a 6 timeline if you think about it, dragon ball canonicity is a joke
