One of the oldest characters to appear in DC Comics still being published. Doctor Occult, AKA The Ghost Detective, was a magic user and paranormal investigator who, for a period, had his soul bonded to his partner's, Rose Psychic. He was murdered by the sorcerer Nick Necro.

Jack Woods was the protagonist of a western series in "New Fun"/"More Fun Comics" from 1935 to 1935. He was then transfered to "Adventure Comics". The adventures of this white hat hero seem to take place around World War I (1914 - 1918) instead of the typical 19th century setting of westerns.
Sandra of the Secret Service was a series protagonist in "New Fun"/"More Fun Comics" (1935 - 1938).
Little Linda was the protagonist of a comedy series in "New Fun"/"More Fun Comics". She was an energetic young girl.
Spike Spaulding was the protagonist of a comedy series, debuting in 1935.
Brad Hardy was protagonist of an adventure series from 1935 to 1938. He was an explorer of strange locations, such as underworld caverns. He faced colorful enemies such as the Rat Men.
Bob Merritt was the protagonist of a series from 1935 to 1938. He was a gentleman adventurer and inventor, specializing in the creation on new types of aircraft.
Woozy Watts was the protagonist of a comedy series, introduced in 1936.
Mark Marson was the protagonist of a science fiction series from 1936 to 1938. He was an officer of the interplanetary police, investigating crimes of his era.
Johnnie Law was a series protagonist from 1937 to 1939. He was a young policeman who patrolled a slum district in the lower East Side of Manhattan. His series Johnnie was part of the working poor and his series dealt with realistic problems such as homelesness. There was a 1951 Johnny Law series but it is uncertain if it was a revival.
Marty McCann was the protagonist of a short-lived series from 1937to 1938. He was a sailor of the United States Navy and its boxing champion. He got involved in a high-profile boxing match while on shore leave.
