razzatazz's Dollhouse: Epitaphs #5 review

This series reaches its final moments here, never exactly reaching the mind-bending heights of the television series but also giving fans of the series something more to go by. There are still going to be gaps in the story line here (though Whedon did at one point promise more than just the one series) but the ending at least wraps up some loose ends as well as ones that were not really all that loose to begin with (the call to Safe Haven.) One of the most intelligent parts about this series was that it seemed to merge post-apocalyptic elements with dystopian ones, something which is not always easy to do. Here the same treatment is given to this series, if only in a small portion as the series wraps up on a bit of a cliffhanger as well. It will be satisfying enough for fans of the show, but again as elsewhere in this series it will make sense more so after having seen the show as well as the two unbroadcast Epitaphs episodes. At the very least it is nice to see Echo back here in full strength and as she accepts that Alpha is redeemable.
