    And, Wackiness Ensues...

With Batman out of town, Barbara Gordon wonders aloud to her father, Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon, What would it be like to be Batman.

Gordon is cautious and conservative. He plays it safe.

Barbara is young, enthusiastic and adventurous. She's going to a masquerade party dressed as "Batgirl".

At the party, Barbara looks for her friend Sandy Vancouver. She discovers that her friend Sandy has been taken hostage by Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn! The adventure begins for Batgirl! Barbara manages to rescue Sandy and briefly elude Harley and Ivy.

And then Catwoman shows up. She's not so much after Sandy as she is a nearby diamond.

This is a fun story, with a number of twists and turns. The ending is a bit flat. It looks like the story was intended to be a one-and-done.

Still, Puckett's writing; the late, great Mike Parobeck's art; Harley Quinn's debut; Barbara's origin as Batgirl. The only thing missing from this story to make it AWESOME would Black Canary.

    This is a Classic story!
