Who do you call when things are coming out of your dreams and trying to kill you? Or when your daughter is cursing in Latin and walking like a spider? Or when your dog keeps screaming at you to strangle your neighbors? of course. He's the only person standing between us and the forces of darkness, but has he been paying his tab? Every act of magic has a cost and Jason Aaron (THOR, ORIGINAL SIN) and Chris Bachalo (UNCANNY X-MEN) are going to put Stephen Strange through hell to even the scales.

Doctor Strange saves a nine year old boy from a nomadic tribe of Other-Dimensional Soul Eaters that have taken up residency in his body. Then he saves a man on the street from a Malebranchian Psyche-Leech. Be even after all that when he shows up at the Bar with No Doors to meet up with Doctor Voodoo, Scarlet Which and Shaman, he is still reprimanded for being late.
Doctor Strange explains about the boy he saved and how the Soul Eaters were running from "The Coming Slaughter" and how the Psyche-Leech seemed more out of place then usual. That's when Manako, interrupts and says all this is happening because Strange isn't paying his bill to Magic.
Strange leaves the Bar in a huff and finds Zelma Stanton on his front porch. She claims to be infested by something and when Strange has her remove her hat he is overwhelmed by something Other-Dimensional that he had never seen before.
Meanwhile somewhere across the Dimensional Gulf, Szandor Zoso, Sorceror Supreme of the 13th Dimension tries to warn other magic users of the Empirikul but his message is destroyed and he is purified by the Imperator and his soldiers.
