He is often considered the original Ninja Turtle because of the first concept art of a unnamed turtle that had nunchucks strapped to his arms.
Midnight has no actual super powers but is a superb detective and hand to hand combatant. His vacuum gun fires a suction cup attached to a super strong cord which he can then reel in. The character is inspired in appearance, powers, and personality by Will Eisner's The Spirit.
Midnighter is an augmented hero with superhuman physical abilities and the power to run through thousands of fight scenarios in his head before a single punch is thrown. Although he's one of the good guys, Midnighter enjoys violence and brutality and never feels more alive than when he's in the middle of a bloody brawl.
