The only time I recall him using a staff in combat was Teen Titans(CN). I don't know why either lol. It's been firmly established Tim is the stick wielder while Nightwing has for the most part(atleast since the early 2000's) predominantly relied on his escrima while otherwise possessing expert martial arts skills. Animated TT Robin also bore a few similarities to Tim, the bostaff perhaps being one of them.

iirc he uses a bo staff in Dark Victory (one of his numerous origin stories from the last continuity) but this the only comics where he uses one afaik. The bo staff is usually Tims signature weapon.

I think Dick used occasionally in sling shot in Golden and maybe Silver Age comics, and started to use escrima sticks around the time he left the Titans and got his own series.

Just comes with different adaptations. Like how Tim Drake's origin in BTAS took ques from Jason Todd's.

Yes. He was trained with a Bo staff (Seen in Robin: Year One) along with implied other armed martial arts disciples.

In my opinion the DCAU Tim had (appart from being a Batman Fan and the name) not much in common with Tim.

In modern cartoons like Teen Titans and "The Batman" they give him probably Tims costume and weapon, because of the same reason it was given to Tim. The costume looks just better and it makes scene for kid to use some thing like a staff when fighting against adults to compentsate the lack of hight and strength. And looks a little bit more realistic than a kid that punches adults out with his bare fists. And it is due to Tims run quite established as a Robin weapon.

To be honest I wouldn't been surprised if they give Dick a staff should they ever make a new continuity with him as a preteen Robin.

He also used his staff for training with Roy in Outsiders as well.
