I personally believe him to be almost as smart and good of a dectective as Bruce. I also think better he is better than Tim Drake at dectective work and is smarter then him.

I agree he's probably almost as good as Bruce and probably better than Tim still just from experience alone,although its not shown as much but he's defiantly one of the best :)

He's a pretty smart guy, though he isn't quite as smart as Tim Drake or Bruce Wayne. As for detective work, he was initially better at it than Tim Drake, who admitted tat he wasn't better than Grayson at the beginning of the Nightwing Series. Eventually though, he's become better than him, even though I haven't seen it explicitly stated.

He's very bright, don't let the Tim Drake worship cloud your judgement. While I'll agree he's not as serious(obsessed) about his work as Tim or Bruce, he's a very underrated Detective and rivals their skills when he's forced to rise to the occasion. Read Who is Donna Troy, Judas Contract, Morrison's run on Batman and Robin. All good showings

Dick is smarter than all the preceding robins. He was trained by Bruce since he was a kid in the sciences and is a great detective in his right. A lot of his training was so that he could take care of himself should Bruce ever leave. Plus Bruc does consider Dick an equal, so that says a lot about his intellect.

He's a lot smarter than your average 21 year old.

He's as introspective as Gotham's entire police department, home to the most crime ridden city ever. That is all.

Grayson has stated before that Tim is a better detective then he will ever be, but still he solved plenty of cases in his run as Batman.

Although I feel as if Kyle Higgins isn't showing us his true potential as a detective in the current Nightwing series...

Dick is smart and has his strengths compared to Tim and Damian. In terms of technology, Tim and Damian might be better, but that doesn't mean that Dick can't hack his way into a computer which he did in The Outsiders when he hacked the JLA's computer to transport his team out of danger. In terms of detective skills, he's up there with Bruce. In terms of strength and prowess, Dick's a natural compared to Tim. Damian's got the training and the abilities, but his temper gets the best of him for now. And Dick stating that Tim's the better detective doesn't mean that Tim is. That's his perspective, and Dick's always been the one to be humble. Tim's the same way with Dick. The three are gifted yet different. But when it comes to interpersonal and leadership skills, Dick beats all the subsequent Robins hands down. In terms of other things, he's street smart and he goes with the flow of things.

Dick's the best out of the Robin's in an overall sense. Not as smart as Bruce, but I would say he's smarter than TIm. That's different than being the better detective of course, as that goes to Tim. Let me say it like this: if they were both given a case, Tim would solve it first, but Dick would still eventually solve it.

Dick is pretty smart. I'd say, as others have said, he's smarter than the other Robins but not quite smarter than Bruce just yet. Many people say that Tim is a better detective than Dick but I don't quite agree with that. To me, I see it as Tim being a new age detective where Dick is more of an old school detective. They are both great detectives, just two completely different styles of detective.

Tim is much more analytical and plan-oriented with his approach to things where as Dick tends to follow the clues wherever they take him and uses his gut and intuition. That being said, whenever he's been part of a team, we can see him put the analytical part of his mind to use and he becomes much more plan oriented when part of a team, which is why he's such a great leader.

Cause Lion-O is second best at everything, which makes him the jack of all trades. Plus he's leader.

Nightwing is sort of a renaissance man too, he has a general knowledge of most things. If Tim/Babs/Cass are specialists in a respective craft, Dick is a generalist among them.
