2. The fact that Dick is using a gun makes me want to strangle someone at DC Editorial. They better at least use this as a catalyst for Dick and Jason to patch things up. Jason could even train Dick how to use guns.

I hope he's still closely connected to the Batfamily, yet has his book remain independent from events and stuff. That was what caused Kyle Higgins to shrink his run down and take out some of the most interesting aspects.

Does anybody else think it's going to be absolutely hilarious seeing a character with (presumably) next to no training in the usage of firearms (besides counteracting them) utilizing them? I feel like this can only end well.

Anyway, I've never been a huge Nightwing/Dick Grayson fan, so I don't have too much to comment on here. For those who are fans of the character, I hope this does well both in the growth and development of the character and in sales.

Though some of the vehemence towards just the very idea here is somewhat frightening.

This concept is an old schtick, It's Winter Solider who faked his death during a large event and became more of a spy in his solo series meets Nick Fury via 1968. So what is new and interesting to DC and it's current fan base is something taken from Marvel's recent past and something taken from there nostalgia.

...... LOL oh jeez DC you must be really desperate if your trying to make Grayson a copy of Winter Soldier only thing missing is the cybernetic leg and eye.

Not gonna lie, it's weird, but I don't hate the idea. I love, love, love, Seeley's Hack/Slash. And I like a good espionage story. Count me in.

I'm on board with this because it gives more of one of the weirder, cooler ideas in Morrison's Batman run. Plus, the creative team is very good, and I know he'll be back as Nightwing before too long.

I don't see why everyone keeps comparing him to Winter Soldier. Winter Soldier was brain washed and became a villain, he didn't plan to fake his death, his identity was never exposed to all his rogues. Nightwing is just faking his death to the world so all his rogues will get off his back and joining a secret agency because if he stays with the Batfamily they will be targeted more than what they already have been.

Later we learned he faked his death and became the Winter Solider again yet the world thought he was dead only Black Widow and Nick Fury knew he was alive. He had a solo book a few years ago that was espionage focused. Does that not sound very familiar to this Grayson book?

First thought, WTF!? Better processed thought, I'll hold final judgment until I actually read an issue. It just all seems so weird, even for New 52 DC.

Now, how long until we get a Secret Justice League? And two, who will be the new Nightwing in the supposed Nightwing and Bluebird book?

No it wouldn't. Bruce Wayne is publicly known as financing Batman and Batman Inc, which would've included Nightwing. This means nothing other than one person financed by Bruce Wayne was unmasked. Considering the distance put between himself and the identity of Batman via coming out as the one paying for Batman and the staged rescue of himself in Year Zero, there's plenty of wiggle room there to keep people from eying Bruce as Batman.

For all those saying Dick Grayson doesn't know how to use a firearm, read Robin: Year One. Bruce trained all the Robins to be proficient in firearms from day one. I don't understand the negativity. Dick has always been an ever evolving character. Read the book before you hate or love it.

STOP BEING LOGICAL! We are comic book fans, it is stated in the handbook, that we have to b*tch and moan about news prematurely. It is also stated that we have to judge a book harshly by its cover and premise, thirdly, we must be paradoxical. We have to complain about stories being the same and repetative, yet still rage when the status quo is changed, so it has been written, so we must comply.

The more I look at this the more I think I guess this is part of the plan to bring Damian back maybe he will be the new Nightwing when he returns?

Wasan assassin. Now he's a spy. During his previous series he was a spy. During most upcoming series he will most likely be a spy.

what is this? i loved dick he was is my favorite batmanfamily character but im not sure ill be able to continue following him.

Actually, Bucky did fake his death as Captain America during the Fear Itself storyline since he was outed as being the Winter Soldier.

Looking forward to this. It's something new, and I'm interested in seeing more Spyral.

He can still have his own rogues gallery. I honestly don't understand why he can't.

@inkink: Not really. Winter Soldier just straight out became the enemy. We're not even sure what Actions Dick is going to take. For all we know he won't even kill anyone.

An odd choice but who knows, it could be pretty cool. I'll wait for the first reviews.

@hushofthewind: eh not really bucky was hunting down sleeper agent wasn't he. grayson well be undercover working for spyral(hydra).also faking there own death is the only common thing but where the story go from there is way differnt

I'm not gonna judge a book by its cover, especially a DC cover, which are notorious for being misleading, I can't see Dick using a gun at all. He probably just carries it for show, or even if he does use it, it's probably just to incapacitate. Like Book, from Firefly.

Obviously Batman's dislike of guns never rubbed off on Dick.
