Devil Fruits

Overview

This concept appears in the comic book One Piece, which tells of the adventure of Monkey D. Luffy, the pirate captain, and his ship Going Merry (later replaced by Thousand Sunny), and his crews of Straw Hat Pirates. This manga is created by Eiichiro Oda. The current rooster of Straw Hat Pirates consists of Nami (the navigator), Roronoa Zoro (an ex pirate hunter who fights with three swords), Sanji (A Cook who fights with his feet), Usopp (A Mechanical Genius and Gunner) Nico Robin (An Archeologist, the only person alive who can read an ancient language), Tony Tony Chopper (an anthromorphic deer), Brook (the cane sword wielding animated skeleton), and Franky (the cyborg carpenter).

The devil fruit are powerful items that when there eaten they bestow its powers on the person but it comes at a price. The eater of the fruit can never swim again. Devil fruit are in fact, limited to one fruit per ability or form. It has been suggested that they become extinct if someone eats the last one of a kind, but this is intrue: the fact is is that there is only one fruit per form or ability, and it will only regrow somewhere in the world if that person dies. An example of this is the suke suke no mi, which allows the user to become invisible, Sanji was angry that someone had found and eaten this fruit which had the ability he wanted. So short of murder or accident he would not be able to gain the invisibility power fruit he wanted.

The fruits can be categorized as such: A Zoan type devil-fruit allows its user to turn into a half-animal, and full animal form, with the ability to mix and match all the features you wish from both forms, though users tend to adopt a singular recognisable form in general. It is said that carnivorous fruit users are particularly brutal. A Logia type devil-fruit allows its user to turn into, generate and control whatever element is associated with that fruit. This is not limited to the standard elements, it can include something as obscure as sand. Finally, there is the Paramecia type. This type of devil-fruit includes that which does not fit into any other category, and tends to give a singular ability which may come with a range of related abilities, such as Luffy's rubber body and stretching, or Buggy's anatomical seperation.

The following list are people who have consumed devil fruits, and their abilities.

• Smoker = Moku Moku no Mi, Logia (Smoke)
• Portgas D. Ace = Mera Mera no Mi, Logia (Fire)
• Luffy = Gomu Gomu no Mi, Paramecia (Gives him the Elasticity and Electric-Resistant Properties of Rubber )
• C rocodile = Suna Suna no Mi, Logia (Sand, Also allows moisture absorption from a person or a large area)
• Mr.1 = Supa Supa no Mi, Paramecia (Allows him to turn any part of his body into a blade, and turns it into metal, which was said to be steel)

• Nico robin = Hana Hana no Mi, Paramecia (Can Replicate any body part on a surface which is in range)
• Buggy the clown = Bara Bara no Mi, Paramecia (Allows him to Seperate parts of his body and control them remotely)
• Tony Tony chopper = Hito Hito no Mi, Zoan (human type zoan fruit)
• Eneru = Goro Goro no Mi, Logia (Electricity)
• Mr. 3 = Doru Doru no Mi, Paramecia (Allows him to generate and possibly scuplt wax which when it hardens, becomes as hard, or harder than steel)

• Miss Double Finger = Toge Toge no mi, Paramecia (Allows the user to grow spikes anywhere on their body)
• Gecko Moria = Kage Kage no mi, Paramecia (Gives the user the ability to manifest and control shadows which when manipulated by him, can be inserted into corpses in order to create "Zombies" with the exact same skills and powers as the person it was taken from. Those who lose shadows will burn upon contact with sunlight, not unlike vampires)

• Miss Valentine = Kilo Kilo no mi, Paramecia (Allows the user to change thier weight, her limit was said to be 1 to 10,000 kilograms, which may change if a stronger person gained it.)
• Kalifa = Awa Awa no mi, Paramecia (Allows the user to emit and control soap and bubbles that can not only clean off dirt but can also "clean off" power)
• Rob Lucci = Neko Neko no mi, Model: Leopard, Zoan
• Jyabura = Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Wolf, Zoan
• Pell = Tori Tori No Mi, Model: Falcon: Zoan
• Mr. 5 = Bomu Bomu No Mi: Paramecia (Allows the user to generate explosions from any part of their body that do not affect them)
• Mr. 2 = Mane Mane No Mi: Paramecia (Clone Clone fruit: Allows the user to change their appearance to any other they have touched to other humanoid forms, they might also gain their physical abilities)
