Elegy, Part Three.
And it just keeps on rolling. Amazing. The art continues to impress me here. The detail in some of the panels is awesome. I can just sit and look at some of them for a long time. The patterns in Alice's clothes, the details in the forest... I spent a lot of time just soaking in the details. It took me a longer time than normal to read this, because I would just stop and look at the panels and try to see every little detail. It was fun. The use of colors is great as well. Such an interesting feel to the panels when Alice is in there. And once again the contrast of feel when it's Kate or Batwoman in the story.
And the story... it's picking up speed now. The friction between Kate and her father is an interesting twist. I wasn't expecting that. Although I probably should have, considering I know how this will all play out (since I read the origin story in later issues first). Kate really struggles with finding her place... with her family, with her friends, with her lovers, and with society in general. It seems she's only "normal" when she's Batwoman.
Each issue in this story has left a great cliff hanger for me... and this is no exception. Did not see that coming either.
I'm really enjoying this and hate to see it end next issue.
