Ho-hum
'The Case of the Three Devils' introduces three acrobat thieves who pull off jewel heists dressed in devil costumes. Not the most noteworthy Bat villains ever, but not too shabby for the early days. Bob Kane experiments with some new 'camera' angles too, which is another nice touch here.
Unfortunately, there's a lot not to like here. Bob Kane creates some really cartoony fight scenes, including one villain with a lump on his head, a black eye, his eyes rolled back, and a dorky smile with tongue hanging out - something worthy of Richie Rich comics - and in another panel, a villain is "BONK!"-ed on the head by a book thrown by Robin entitled 'Crime Does Not Pay!' written by 'Robin' someone.
Other annoying things include the villains getting away with knocking the heroes out with gun butts a couple too many times, and Robin using rocket powered roller skates.
There's some good things here - including a police officer who likes Batman and allows him to escape custody, but on a whole the issue is a thumbs-down - below average for Golden Age Batman stories.
