The Green Kingdom
So the issue follows up the recent activities of Poison Ivy as well as her origin story that is brought to us via flashbacks. The story manages to expand itself enough for us readers to understand everything about her and care for the issue itself.
The flashbacks of her origin story were really well done in my opinion. It looks great and along with the artwork of Javier Pina things are looking brilliant.I really like her flashback even though that almost every single origin story of a villain this week has been because of a troublesome childhood or because he was abused when he was a kid and this origin right here is the same thing but somehow it just works way better than the rest of them.
Her recent activities are really strange because they are all dictated by her past, before she became a supervillain and you ask yourself why the hell is she doing all of those stuff right now.She has been a supervillain for a couple of years and she doing this right now. There is no Batman or any other hero but as a whole her activities are not tied to Batman at all until the last page where she turns Gotham into a jungle which she couldn't have done if Batman was in town. But everything else is possible even if Batman,Batgirl,Nightwing and many other superheroes are in Gotham.
The issue was good enough to entertain for those 15-20 minutes in which I was reading it but nothing more. The origin worked way better than the rest of the origins I read about this week and I was actually really well surprised.I didn't expect to like this issue or to care for it at all but it turned out to be one of the better ones actually.
