    1. The Puppet Master

Starring Batman and Robin. Jonathan Bard, a skilled puppeteer with no people skills, turns to a life of crime after being barred from a puppet contest for sabotaging his opponents equipment. Bard is able to rob a train by using life sized puppets to distract the guards while his gang pilfer the train's contents. Batman and Robin begin a manhunt for Bard who begins robbing armored cars using skyscraper sized puppets to distract the armored car guards. Batman and Robin chase Bard to his hideout but wind up in an elaborate death trap where they become marionettes under Bard's control. After toying with them, Bard leaves the Dynamic Duo to gather members of Gotham City's underworld for a puppet show featuring the death of Batman and Robin. When Bard returns the mob bosses quickly discover that the Batman and Robin on stage are live sized wooden puppets. Batman then leaps out from the ceiling and further humiliates the now disgraced criminal puppet master. Batman and Robin defeat Bard along with several of the Crime Lords in attendance. Script by Bill Finger, pencils by Dick Sprang, inks by Charles Paris.
