There’s a hit out on Bruce Wayne!

Bruce Wayne is about to open the new Martha Wayne Children Wing. However, not everyone is happy about it. One of those people is the Penguin! He contracts the Ghost Dragons to kill Bruce, so he can't make it to the party and the mad supervillain can become Gotham's new philanthropist by opening the Cobblepot Children Center. However, the young billionaire's Batman affairs ruins the night as Bruce comes in late for the opening ceremony and Penguin manages to do what he had wished. But there is still one thing remaining... Once the Ghost Dragons make a contract, they don't rest until the chosen person is assassinated!

This is the first issue for the new creative team on Detective Comics. It consists of John Layman (creator of Chew) as writer and Jason Fabok as artist. I was slightly upset to see Tony Daniel leave the series as he is a great artist and can write good stories, although throughout this series he has been a bit disappointing (just a shame he couldn't stay on as artist). I will however give Layman his dues as he has actually done a good job on this issue, and hopefully this is a sign of things to ...

The Psychotic Perspective: Detective Comics #13 0

Duck and CoverThe last two issues of Detective Comics were a disgrace to the name of Batman. For that reason, I was delighted to hear the series was getting a new writer, John Layman. I am unfamiliar with Layman's past work, but I have been reassured by some of his fans that we can expect great things. John Layman writer of one of my favorite books(Chew), and Jay Fabok who drew that fantastic Animal Man story in Untold Tales of Blackest Night #1 take over 'Tec. What could possibly go wrong?Art.I love Jay Fabok's art, it's very David Finch-y but I think he draws better faces than Finch does.
