    Established in 1993 by Jim Shooter, Defiant Comics published a variety of books bristling with fresh concepts. The company folded in 1995 due to litigation costs from defeating Marvel over the "Plasm" copyright. Sadly, the company was just about to begin it's first company wide Crossover called "Schism"

    One of their innovations was the publication of Dark Dominion #0 and Warriors of Plasm #0 as trading cards so you had to assemble the comic book yourself using a special folder. The trading cards were late for publication and ended up being released after the series were already out as regular books after their first issues.
