Joey resists leaving the city but he won't let Dan leave alone. Kirk is a member of a loosely organized faction that refuses to take the overall zombie threat seriously. They hunt down zombies for sport and set them on fire. Kirk and a few others decide to leave the Appalachians because they know that disaster awaits them in this group. Wayne and Albert find themselves forced to watch a family fall to the zombies, realizing they would only get themselves killed if they tried to help.
