@madeinbangladesh: That's the problem with people.
I'm take it that you were also offended by the Batgirl/Joker variant cover?

@firestormfate1919: I disagree. The comics don't have much language, or sex. While there is plenty of gore, Fox would most likely get away with some of it. I understand if you want to see a more action packed Deadpool, bit it kind of sick for peoplease like my self who would have to drag our parents with us to see the movie. Keep in mind that I had no say in what year I was born.
Were you expecting some other sort of humor from Deadpool? :)
Wes Anderson Humor.........
@wells_the_geek: Most movies these days need to be bloodless to even achieve PG-13. A movie without blood about a guy who uses guns and swords to brutally destroy his opponents just isn't right. I don't even care if language and sexual contents are excluded, but you need the violence. If not, it simply isn't Deadpool.
Ha, that was actually funny! A good sign for the movie I guess. And even though they could have made it pg-13 I think it opens up more doors to have it R. No need too work within guidelines and what not. I just hope they don't get too carried away and forget that it still has to be good!
@firestormfate1919: You're probably right. Plenty of guts would have to be spilt, however all Xmen and Wolverine movies are PG 13, but they have an excellent portrayal of Wolverine, but he tends to use a badass samurai style of violence while Deadpool uses his sence of humor to inflict damage (largely on himself, making gore part of the comedic relief). Overall, I don't care that much about the rating, but it could alienate certain fans of the merc with the mouth.
@wells_the_geek: That's a good point. I really think they need a rating in between R and PG-13. Something that allows gore and limited language, but without extreme obscenity or sexual content. Like an "R lite". I do wonder how X-Men got those ratings. I know Avengers had to reshoot the Loki stab scene because at first it had blood. If they didn't take out that tiny amount of gore, it would have been R. Then you have Wolverine who stabs people and takes bullets to the chest. Sometimes these syepstems can be seriously confusing. Regardless, I think it'll be better as a result of this rating.

It's called a '15' in the UK.
The costume looks much better in motion than I originally though after just seeing the still shot. Pretty excited now
Too bad Mario Lopez wasn't...

..."Saved By The Bell".
Love you, Marvel!!
Huh! I hadn't even considered the rating. I'd just assumed it'd be rated R... At first, I thought the title of this article was kinda a joke at first. Like it would continue "and that the sky is blue, and kittens are adorable" or something like that. But now I feel kinda silly for not having thought about them making it PG-13. Either way, I'm glad it's R.
@perethorn: Ha! this was my initial reaction after hearing the news. Well played Fox....well played.
This is still my least anticipated cbm, but it being rated R makes it more excited.
I could see that working but come on, Deadpool at his heart is childish.
Deadpool in his X-Force days right?
@parachomp: yes it is.

This is why Fox>>>>Disney
Their treatment of Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Ghost Rider and even Deadpool himself in X-Men Origins Wolverine would lead many to disagree with this statement. While I am happy and excited for a Deadpool movie, Fox is far from redeeming itself of the way they treat most of the franchises they have rights to. Disney has given Marvel great freedom to craft some amazing movies that are both engaging and respectful to the source material.

I feel like with just the 5 good X-Men movies, easily trumps most of what Disney has done, ant it seems like they are getting their sh*t together. F4 for looks great, Deadpool too, and I'm more pumped for Apocalypse than I am for Avengers. Disney is like the McDonalds of Movie makers, no risks just a machine pumping out mediocrity
It's good that the Deadpool movie is rated R. But I wonder if it's going to win a much bigger audience, which is non-Deadpool readers out there. Look what happened to Dredd. It was rated R and a better film than the Stallone one. Yet, there wasn't enough box office numbers to green light a sequel. Hopefully, this movie works both critically and commercially.
It should do well. Look at the differences between Dredd and Deadpool. Deadpool is far more well known overall, has a game (which I know quite a few people know him just from that alone), has been in cartoons and much more merchandise. When was the last time you saw someone wearing any Judge Dredd clothing? I liked Dredd, but I don't think it was really for most people, plus it didn't seem advertised very well. With the success of the X-men films recently, I see them pushing this movie like crazy.
Reynolds is a terrible actor but hopefully he can somehow do my favorite comic character right

AAAAAAAAAAHAHHAHAHAHHAAH!
@firestormfate1919: Of coarse, it would be more fun to see Deadpool with some blood, but the the trailer didn't really have any. It managed to show the classic action and humor that we all love about Deadpool without being R rated content. Several movies, such as the Lord of the Rings manage to have epic battles with stabbing and decapitation, but aren't rated R.He and Wolverine can both be violent in their own epic and funny ways, as they have before, and continue to awe audiences.
Nice, glad Marvel changed their minds about a more appropriate rating.
I wonder now if Suicide Squad will be rated R or PG, I think that film can go either way depending on who's doing it. If they go the Batman AA route, has to be Rated R considering how much they pushed the animated movie.
@machomustachio: Out of curiosity, what do you dislike about the X-Men movies? There's been some crappy ones but I personally thought the rest where pretty good.
Well my main problem is that they aren't X-Men movies, they're Wolverine movies and one Xavier/Magneto movie. In fact, they're so marginalized that they're barely characters, not to mention not being adapted right (for example, Storm having barely a page of dialogue across five films and Beast just being a regular guy with blue skin and hair). I could go on and on but it will just make me really upset, so basically the FOX films are "X-Men" in label alone and seeing the how well Disney is treating the Marvel Cinematic Universe so well just makes FOX's crimes that much worse.
