We're going by our notes from recent convention panels. It's still pretty early in the game to be talking about Deadpool, but here we are. With Wizard World Philly kicking off, Marvel is releasing first looks at a variety of titles that are coming up. Among them was Deadpool, which is scheduled to ship this September by writer Daniel Way and artist Paco Medina. Details are a bit short at the moment, but we do know the first issues will tie into Secret Invasion. Check below for what appears to be the first cover along with some interior pencils. Look below that for our interview with series editor Axel Alonso.

I enjoyed Daniel Way's run on Ghost Rider (even if the pace was too slow), but that's really the only work of his other than the 5-part Deadpool special in Wolverine: Origins that I've seen of his. So really, I have mixed feelings about him.

And yeah, I didn't care much for Steve Dillon's work. He's a good artist, but his style just doesn't mix well with "tone" of the series. Y'know?

See I don't think he's bad either. In my new Spotlight he says he's read for Deadpool to be a Bad @$$ again.

The art in Wolverine Origins just seemed really empty. You would get a panel with two guys fighting and nothing else really in the picture, so it delivered the story of what was happening but it seemed really flat. I'm hoping that the change in artist will bring some depth to Daniel Way's writing.

Yes Deadpool gets a variant by McGuinness again.  I loved his Deadpool.  Also the ratings Parental Advisory so there could be more bad a$$ery."

I am so dissapointed that they chose Daniel  Way to pick up the Deadpool Book, I hope his run is short lived and then picked up by a good writer. Reading his stuff in wolverine origins makes me sad because he obviously has no Idea how to go about writing deadpool correctly.
