Pause
Why "Pause?" Well, because I can't really dig the current issues of Deadpool. Shikla was just kinda thrown at those of us who didn't want to pay for the online comic because we knew we'd buy the physical copy. So, I am pausing my reading of the current run until these seven issues are released and then I'll pick up and read as I should have read starting in issue 27.
Why five stars? Because that is how nice it is to read something by Duggan and Posehn that isn't drawn by Lucas. (I see he drew issue 31, which I picked up today; drats.)
Why else five stars? The online comics were $2.99 each. This print comic is $3.99. The print comics contain two of the online chapters. Boo yah! I'm saving two dollars. (Lovely Richard Carston thinking, if you follow.)
The story itself is pretty cool. With only two chapters in the chamber I don't know too much of what is going on, but Deadpool is cast in an odd position that only he can make awesome. His acceptance of the task doesn't make much sense, but we don't care because everything flows so nicely. His interactions with the vampires are amazing. His quips are nicely balanced. The scenes are lovely and definitely require some more thorough attention.
If the rest of the series is like this then I can't wait to see how things unfold.
