Lucky Shot, Dead-Timer
Zombie-fied selves of deceased presidents are causing havoc in New York City. Deadpool, his buddy Ben Franklin and a few S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are in charge of dealing with likes of JFK, Hoover and Abraham Lincoln. Determined to take care of them, he goes through great lengths, but what happens when he squares off with Abe Lincoln in the ring?
The Good
Deadpool is in great hands with this creative team. Posehn and Duggan's take on Deadpool just about sums up Wade's character. Like Deadpool, the story is lively, kooky and lots of fun. The action is non-stop and the writers' creativities fire on all cylinders. Wade's supporting cast isn't what you'd expect on paper but they offer great contrast and humor to Deadpool's antics. Who knew that an ornery Ben Franklin and a bad ass Abe Lincoln would fit the tone for this book? Tony Moore's also delivering with his visuals. Every panel bursts with high octane energy. All of the characters he draws are dynamic and they're always in action.
The Bad
If anything, it's the fact that we have to wait a while for the next issue to come out!
Verdict - 5 out of 5
What can I say? I loved this issue of Deadpool. Though we're still in the same story arc where Wade's gotta take care of some zombie-fied presidents, each issue of this current arc brings something different and exciting to the table. With such great writing and art, you really get the most out of your $2.99. There's just so much to enjoy about this book and it's clear that the creative team on the book are having the time of their lives telling a story like this.
