    Hard to Believe

Ron Marz and Peter David write Robin-Tim Drake and Jubilee cute. They have a budding romantic relationship that is kinda complicated by having to fight for the fate of two universes. That pretty much sums up DC Versus Marvel/Marvel Versus DC - characters that might be friends have to fight for the survival of their home universe. There's no option to try to find out who or what is behind the competition. That's really what fans and readers want: an opportunity to see Aquaman versus the Sub Mariner; Thor versus Captain (SHAZAM!) Marvel, The Flash versus Quicksilver. Who would win?

And fans get to vote on that. That explains Bibbo's tote board.

Green Lantern versus Silver Surfer and Catwoman versus Elektra are pretty close matches. So is the legendary Lobo-Wolverine match-up. Lobo punctures Logan's heart. Then they take the fight off-panel, down behind the bar, and Logan comes up and out the winner. That's hard to believe. Princess Diana lays aside Mjolnir to fight Storm - and loses. If Kon-El has at least some of Superman's invulnerability, it's difficult to believe he would be bested by Ben Reilly.

    Some real head-scratchers there.

Although Batman is the declared winner in his match with Captain America, it's hard to see it as anything but an even match.

And then comes the twist. The final page reveal for the entire series. Between this and the final, fourth issue of the series, come a plethora of Amalgam characters.

    Mileage may vary.
