I really hope DC and Dwayne Johnson take the Black Adam spin off seriously unlike Universal when they did Mummy Returns with a follow up called Scorpion King with sequels worst than the original.

Because there's nothing interesting about DCEU since Snyder left. And since everyone's satisfied with bland product like Shazam, there probably won't be too.

@adamtrmm: I wouldn't totally agree. Snyder had no say with Aquaman and it was a tremendous hit. Wonder woman I felt was ok. Shazam was good like Ant-Man or Dr. Strange. I feel Snyder went into a tangent that WB wanted to get out of and since his departure, WB has been making bank on their releases. They were considering having a flashpoint movie that would erase everything so far but that seems unnecessary at this juncture.

Aquaman was visually amazing, and overall a pretty flick to watch, but beyond that it was a painfully basic movie I don't think I'll ever watch to be engaged with the plot, but just when I'll need something brainless and action packed. Well yeah, Shazam was exactly as bland as those actually which is exactly the problem to me. Aquaman at least delivered with the unique setting to stand out.

Well, Snyder himself wanted to end it with time travel that may or may not be related to Flashpoint, so it wasn't exactly just random WB guys that planed it.

I'll be right there on top of the hype train when they announce a worthy creative team to do the IP I actually like. Taylor Sheridan for Green Lantern Corps maybe? Haha that will probably be as hardcore as Snyder.

I don't even know what to think of it, but as of now every single rumor I heard of I dislike. I don't think he's a bad director for sure, but I never understood the praise for his Apes flicks. They were ok, some strong moments, others not so much, but mostly just ok.

@adamtrmm: the only thing I didn't like from the planet of the ape prequels was just the titles. Reeves could have simply named the rise, dawn and war of the apes without including planet.

Getting back to topic, I'm hoping Reeves' take on the batman film will be similar to the Arkham games. If Deathstroke is the lead villain then it should be a film that has the league of assassins and possibly Bane included.

Nolan's batman begins was a good start with Bruce's journey but I would have expanded on it before Bruce put on the cape and cowl. Maybe include others like green arrow, zatanna and bronze tiger.

@hyiena: lol...that is funny. Black Adam versus metamorpho in this spin off would be good to see because it would be like "you wouldn't know which team to root for." It would also be a great way to introduce the hawks into the mainstream in order to spark interest in a hawk film.

Actually, the whole Arkham/Deathstroke was Affleck/Johns thing and Reeves already confirmed he has completely scrapped their script (which is the first time I took pause with his whole take), so don't expect anything like that. He specifically said he wants a noir movie, which sounds nothing like what previous ideas was.

Nolan's trilogy is the exact reason why DCEU jaded Batfleck was perfect. We don't need no origin/becoming/maturing bullshit anymore when we had that all in a beloved trilogy already. What we needed is Batman in the bigger setting of DC where new aspects of Batmythos could be integrated. The family, the superpowers, the supertech. If only DC fanboys weren't such crybabies we might actually have nice things...

I expect the council to appear or at least the wizard himself. Felix Faust is the type of guy to show Teth he should be going after more power instead of doing the wizards bidding
