Ben being an executive producer doesn’t really say much. Chris Nolan, far more accomplished and experienced a producer, served as one on MOS, but that was CLEARLY Zack’s movie. Also, Ben said a while back that he enjoys working in the DCEU and is excited for the plans moving forward; adding that he felt inspired by Zack’s vision as a director. And let’s not forget that Zack himself is serving as an executive producer for both Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman (and also possibly Aquaman), so Ben serving as one for JLPO, again, doesn’t say much.
I just hope this is strictly a Ben Affleck-thing and not a Batman thing. The last thing I want to see is an overrated cinematic version at the center of everything when in truth, he should be mostly sidelined for survival reasons. BVS did a great job of showing that in the final fight. Batman had a plan to stop Doomsday, but it backfired and he was almost killed. Also, while Superman and Wonder Woman were putting in the effort of trying to kill Doomsday, Batman was just trying to stay alive. I really hope that remains consistent throughout this universe. I really do. I love Batman, but he really needs to be downplayed.
