Among DC Characters.
DC Comics
Originally known as "National Publications", DC is a publisher of comic books featuring iconic characters and teams such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Justice League of America, and the Teen Titans, and is considered the originator of the American superhero genre. DC, along with rival Marvel Comics, is one of the "big two" American comic book publishers. DC Entertainment is a subsidiary of Warner Brothers and its parent company Warner Media.
Who is the most powerful Metahuman?
Also, no powers from other sources I.E Speed Force, A Lantern Ring, Magic etc.
They need to be a human with abiltites. I.E Black Canary etc.
" @Michael the Fly: Well, they are actually the same person "True, I think Zoom might be on second place (I'm not the biggest DC fan).
" @Supreme Marvel said:@Portrait said:" Also, no powers from other sources I.E Speed Force etc.""
" @Supreme Marvel: Zoom doesn't get his powers from the speed force. "If I am not mistaken he has a form of time control or something like that, definitely not a speed force user.
" @Supreme Marvel: Zoom doesn't get his powers from the speed force. "What I mean is, he gets his power from some where other than within himself. He wasn't born to have them like, Black Canary was.
I'd vote for Firestorm above just about anyone else. His powers are only limited by the compositional knowledge of his two component personas.
plastic man wasn't born with his powers. I think the logical person would be... Captain Comet. he is a metahuman and he was born with his powers.
I've never actually thought about it before. It seems that most of DC's heavy hitters aren't technically metahumans, or their powers are too complicated to peg. Hell, looking at the justice league's main roster:
- Superman - Alien
- Martian Manhunter - Alien
- Batman - Human
- Flash - Human with access to the speed force
- Wonder Woman - Goddess/powered by magic; whichever really applies
- Lanterns - Power Ring
I feel like Aquaman might be up there? I would class him, and Atlanteans in general as meta-humans. The human-like Atlanteans I think are more a sub-species of metahumans. I'm pretty sure they can interbreed with Humans, so they are still human, and get their powers from their genes. Most of the powerful ones are from sorcery, but Aquaman is even special among his people, and it's his own enhanced abilities plus the telepathy. But if you don't count him because he comes from a race of powerful ones...then I don't really know. Most of them really do seem more in the wake of magic or "fell into" their powers.
@serpent222: They can, Arthur himself is a half-breed if memory serves rightly. And so is Jackson Hyde (2nd Aqualad).
Would magic users (the ones with the innate ability) classify as metahumans? Because if they do, the Zataras and maybe Xanadu would rank pretty high up there
Metamorpho
SuperBoy(his half human half kryptonian)
And Aquaman's has a human parent(his father) and atlanteans like upper class meta-humans
so Black Manta
Black Canary
FireStrom
Static Shock
Batman :D :D
Animal Man
Beast Boy
Black Lightning
Wally West
Barry Allen (every meta human gets their power by another sorce or caught)
Azrael
Clayface
Atomic Skull
Killer Croc
Doctor Manhattan
Rorschach
slade
Mister Freeze
Poison Ivy
Killer Frost
Man-Bat
Ra's Al Ghul
Vandal Savage
Weather Wizard

Monarch, who, if I recall, had somewhat of a stalemate with Superboy-Prime, who had then absorbed the powers of a Guardian of the Universe (even though Monarch kinda essploded). Another would maybe be Captain Marvel. I read somewhere (sorry, I can't find the source) that when he held Shazam's spot on the Rock of Eternity, he was one of the most powerful people in the universe.
Depends how you define metahuman.
But eliminating people who are either just human, aliens, externally powered via trinkets and gadgets, along with those who's powers can be passed on easily I get a list like this:
- Captain Atom
- The Flash Family
- Aquaman
- Zatanna
- Raven
Firestorm may be comparable to Atom, but the Firestorm Matrix is a bit of a trinket that can be passed around. The Flash Family gets on because their power is within them and cant be passed on... ignoring a freak accident with chemicals and lightning bolts took place twice. Aquaman and Raven get on because they have atleast 1 human parent, Wonder Woman does not because she's either 100% Amazon or a Amazon/Olympian hybrid. And Zatanna gets on because her powers are also inherent to her due to linage, while Dr. Fate's power lies mostly in his helmet.

Wouldn't you classify the Flash Family as mere Speed Force Conduits? They're channeling a power that, for the most part, appears capable of going to anyone with a mere freak accident. Just look at the Speed Force storm.
Also, wouldn't Raven and Zatanna be Homo Magi? Whether or not that also applies to being a Meta, I suppose, is beyond him. It was put oddly enough in the context of Dark Knights: The Forge/Casting that it has something to with what's in your blood, I think.

Well no, because getting those speedforce powers is something you can't do at will. Like it's not like Barry can touch someone and pass off his speed permanently to that person or share it for very long. The Speed Force Storm... wasn't that a one off event similar to everyone getting superpowers to fight Meggaddon?
I consider the team 'meta-human' as what it means 'more than human', and as such that their powers have to originate internally, like being born with them and have atleast 1 human parent. I wont call Raven or Zatanna homo magi or members of a certain species because they are both hybrids. Giovanni Zatara was to the best of my knowledge just a human, who fathered Zatanna with the homo magi woman Sindella. While Raven is a demigod, being born to one superpowerful demon and a human woman. Both of which have ended up with powers normal humans do no have.
Regarding Metal... to be honest, I am not a fan of the idea that everything is somehow, even loosely, tied together like this.
So basically you are asking about the dc equivalent to marvels mutants ? I'm not sure but I don't think dc really has anything like that, the only thing that would be similar would be the second generation of meta humans so the childeren of meta humans. Because everyone in dc gains their power from something else, either being a different species, having an object that give them powers or having the meta gene but even then it has to be triggered by something, unless like in some cases you are the child of someone that has the meta gene and you are re born with your powers. But honestly I think what you are looking for is the most powerful human that carries the meta gene born with their abilities, because metahuman is a term used to describe pretty much anyone with powers such as superman and the flash.
