Somebody said Bane! That's funny because he's not in the top twenty, much less top five. Bane's not that great of a hand-to-hand combatant. He's good but I could easily name thirty people that could kick his ass. Seriously, Two-Face could have better feats than Bane in hand--to-hand. Nightwing and Deathstroke are probably not top ten. Nightwing's skills (superior to Batman) are in being the best leader and his acrobatic skills. Beyond that, he's not as good as Batman in hand-to-hand. Deathstroke's best factors are his tactical mind and his physical enhancements. He didn't take out seven Justice Leaguers because of his hand-to-hand. He took them out because of his tactical mind and physical enhancements. I'm going with this list based on feats -
1. Lady Shiva - She's been said to be the best hand-to-hand combatant by Batman. She's only lost to Cassandra Cain if we're discounting the instance of being one-shotted by Batman due to horrible writing and Grodd's mind control.
2. Richard Dragon - He's defeated Bronze Tiger, stalemated Batman, and is still considered an excellent teacher despite the Chuck Dixon revamp controversy.
3. Cassandra Cain - She's beaten Lady Shiva, defeated Mad Dog, and defeated most of the League of Assassins. Even Batman's stated she could take him.
4. Bronze Tiger - He's gone toe-to-toe with Shrapnel, beat down Deathstroke, and defeated the Iron Monkey Clan by himself. Also, before Cassandra Cain was around, Prometheus's helmet said the top three fighters out of the thirty best were Lady Shiva, Richard Dragon, and Bronze Tiger. I can't find the scan though. :/
5. Batman - He's stalemated Bronze Tiger, stalemated Richard Dragon, and is just one of the best combatants out there.
Conner Hawke would be up there if he had better showings. I didn't count Karate Kid because he's from the future. Wonder Woman has no feats, just saying. Also, that Batgirl series had Gail Simone writing it. She's a good writer but she doesn't do research on her characters, which is why Bronze Tiger keeps being one-shotted.
