is it just me or are all DC live action main characters so far depressed or have some type of negative dull personality?

Nah, it's not you. This is admittedly how DC/WB so far wanted to present their heroes as- dark, depressed and brooding. Though JLA might change things up a bit

I thought the characters in SS were at least more lighthearted than the rest of the DCEU so far, but yeah sadly WB just doesn't know anything.

It's not you. It's a very common complaint about the characters.

Aquaman looked no more depressed than Iron Man whenever he had a drink in his hand. But alcoholism is not a substitute for being happy.

And Superman was almost always surrounded by people who disliked him. Except when he was saving them. He was happy when the people around him were happy, like Lois and his mother.

Everybody seemed pretty happy in Suicide Squad. Harley was happy, Deadshot, didn't look like he cared much, but when he got a gun in his hands he was happy. Boomerang seemed pretty out of it most of the time, but he was the most varied, I'd say, in terms of his emotions, just to name a few.

Batman is always depressed, but he smiles more without his costume on. But then, if he smiled with it on, that would be weird.

Wonder Woman seemed more curious, but she was obviously happy pretty often from the little we've seen.

    It's just you.

Did you want them to make joke and be happy and dance, when zord destroyed cities, or when Doomsday did, or when Bruce parents died, or when Bat was having nightmare,

You ask they were depressed ok when half of your city is destroyed by a monster what will you do joke around.

Nah man this guy has a point, DC needs to lighten up the mood a tad. Your parents died 30 years ago is no reason to walk around with the personality of a rock. I think Stephen Amell portrays is the perfect balance between seriousness and happy time and DCEU needs to translate that into the movies so they dont feel like a funeral.

We arent asking for Bruce Wayne to be Tony Stark, if you take away the Zombie Land guy then BvS would not have a single smile if the whole movie.

I'd say Aquaman looked more angry than depressed.

I'd also say that in certain parts of BvS Wonder Woman looked amused, and happy as hell to be fighting.

@esco1199: I never thought about it like this but you're right. If you think about it, Bruce has really profound emotional problems to be doing what he does.

Are you referring to my post? I said the Marvel characters are wise-cracking dorks and DC movies are currently short on good stories and are too overloaded with data. I criticised both companies.

The DCEU has definitely been going for the darker approach with it's settings

What might not be to most peoples taste, is that they are going for long character arcs, rather than doing it all in one film - so I think you'll see a brighter representation of the characters starting in Justice League. That's what the Christ like allegory was with Superman dying at the end of BvS - It took his death for Batfleck to realise his approach had been wrong and he needs to make amends
