Post your best casting choices for any characters you want in the DCU, regardless whether they have films in the works or not. I want to see pics of your picks.
DC Comics
Originally known as "National Publications", DC is a publisher of comic books featuring iconic characters and teams such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Justice League of America, and the Teen Titans, and is considered the originator of the American superhero genre. DC, along with rival Marvel Comics, is one of the "big two" American comic book publishers. DC Entertainment is a subsidiary of Warner Brothers and its parent company Warner Media.
Casting the DC universe
dang, nobody. lets see wat yall got to say about this man as superman then
I know somebody will have an objection, so go ahead. just tell me wat u think.
I know he could do either barry or wally but he favors wally
He's my pick for Barry
Yeah, him for hal
I want him to play Arthur but he needs to shave, it just looks funny to me.
Josh Dumahal was # 2 on my list as Hal Jordan. Josh Holloway as Aquaman works even with the facial hair. Just let it grow out and do the bearded version minus the sucky costume & hook hand.
Yeah, that would be a pretty good super hero/buddy comedy with a decent script & the right director.
Peter Mensah = Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning.
Roger Cross = John Stewart.
Henry Simmons = John Henry Irons/Steel.
Halle Berry = Mari McCabe/Vixen.
Michael Jai White = Ben Turner/Bronze Tiger.
some ive thought about before....
^ Alicia Witt as Poison Ivy
^ John Malkovich as Martian Manhunter ( heavy makeup and effects implied.)
Witt would be good as Poison Ivy. Also see her as a possible Queen Mera aka Mrs. Aquaman. My pick for J'Onn J'Onnz would be Christopher Judge with needed EFX makeup job. Both his voice & physique work for me as the Martian Manhunter.
Given the proper hairstyle & facial hair, Bill Nighy = Ra's Al Ghul.
Leonor Varela = Talia.
Nathan Jones = Ra's manservant/bodyguard Ubu.
Great casting except for ras al ghul. Bill Nighy is too frail and feminine and non-athletic for the part. Ras is a formidable fighter in the peak of conditioning.
My take on Ra's Al Ghul casting : Nighy doesn't need to be athletic to play Ra's. Although Ra's is lean & muscular, Nighy dosen't need to strip down to fight and if I'm not mistaken Ra's mostly prefers using a sword rather than resorting to hand to hand combat unless he's in a one of those Lazarus Pit induced fits of rage. Ubu would more than likely be the one to engage in combat on Ra's behave rather than have his master sully his hands on someone he thought was beneath him.
Yeah, he did a decent job. I have no problems with any upcoming Batman sequels that would have Neeson reprise the role of Ra's Al Ghul. Nighy's just my pick if I were to cast the role. The fun thing about seeing other people's casting choices is that you get to see some unique takes on charactersthat you your self may not have thought of because everyone will look at and interpret the characters the same. Some choices will make some say "Hell no! That's just wrong." While some will look at the same choices and say "Hey! I never thought about the character looking like that person. That could work." Besides unless there is some Hollywood bigwig checking this out looking for ideas or he or she's minds on the same wave length as some of us posters, we'll never see any of these picks on the big screen. Just have some fun with this. :)
Lighten his hair color & give him the proper style facial hair and Viggo Mortensen = Oliver Queen/Green Arrow.
Ashley Scott = Dinah Lance/Black Canary.
Chad Michael Murray = Roy Harper/Red Arrow.

Youre like at 99% as far as your picks...you should become a casting agent...great picks. i still think Nighy is too effeminate for such a powerful role though...with such a good eye for casting as you have im sure you can find a better choice to represent him. Nighy did some sword-fighting in Underworld and played a decent vampire...but a Imposing character like Ra's needs someone with more of a strength of presence.

o yeah, of coarse. i like nighy too. neeson would've been my first choice. everytime i do one of these i feel as if some casting director will look at these and see somebody they might actually think about giving a call for the role. i know that may never happen though. nighy would make a great ra's though." @cascadeking09: Yeah, he did a decent job. @ Michael6ft7 : Ra's Al Ghul is one of those hard to cast characters in my opinion. You'd want someone that is both physically imposing as you suggest , has the acting ability to put across Ra's attitude & command presence and somewhat, if not exactly have a resemble to the character. I can think of several actors that can pull off the imposing physique & commanding presence, but without some serious EFX makeup don't resemble Ra's. Gerard Butler just off the top of my head fits into this category for me at least. And as pointed out with Nighy, he has the right look & acting abilities but not the impressive physique.
Ryan Reynolds is/was my top choice for a big screen Wally West, but since he has been tapped to play Hal Jordan I guess I'll have to go with my # 2 choice of Jensen Ackles.
Grace Park = Linda Park.
Cole Sprouse = Bart Allen.
Neal McDonough = Barry Allen. My take, Barry Allen would stay dead and would only be seen in flashback sequences.
@StrangerXL: i dont know about cole sprouse and neal mcdough. barry should always be done as a movie b4 wally shows up IMO, my whole thing with cole would be the fact that he's really skinny and comes off as nerdy on his own show and little kids would look at that and think of bart as cody. if i were a casting director lookin for somebody to play bart at a young age i would want somebody that has a little more weight and muscle on them and is used to playing characters with a personality similar to bart's. but i can see y u chose him.
@ cascadeking09: Hear you on the Barry/Flash movie coming first, but just going with Wally to start with since Barry is currnetly being reestablished in the DCU. Ideally just as I PMed you regarding Scott Porter as the younger Hal Jordan for a GL origin movie, I'd do the same for a Barry Allen Flash movie, I just haven't thought of what actor I would like to play a young Barry Allen. He's too old for Bart now but Michael Gallagher who played Simon on Seventh Heaven, when he was in his teens ideally would have been my choice.
@ Decept-O: If Bea Arthur weren't dead she'd be Granny Goodness. Rosie 'O Donnell could be Stompa of the Female Furies. She's both big enough & loud enough.
