Z and SM
Although she appears later than others such as Sgt. Rock and Swamp Thing in this series, Zatanna does pretty well to show up by issue 18 of DC Comics Presents. The usual contrivance to get Superman and the guest hero together is one one hand a bit too far fetched, especially as this is trying to play itself off as a kind of actual science. On the other hand, the manner in which the two end up working together is relatively inventive. The issue doesn't do much to distinguish itself from the others in the series, but tells a story in an entertaining way nonetheless.
