Is Batwing just a Black Panther Rip-off for DC?

I like the comic a lot it's just i feel it can't escape Black Panther Likeness

I also feel a little bit of Iron Man in there too...

I'd say my complaint is the branding of Batwing as the "Batman of Africa".

(Other than the fact that I have no interest in the character).

    Africa is an enormous continent.

It seems that the rest of the Batman Inc crew are highly localized, heck, we've seen at least two representatives from the UK.

To make matters worse, Africa is a war-torn continent, stricken with warlords, ethnic cleansing, etc. How is one Bat-rep to stand in the face of all of that if Bruce Wayne can't even keep one city safe?

@Crash_Recovery:  He's technically the Batman of the Democratic Republic of Congo - though the first story arc, which ended in last month's issue, affected Africa as a whole. The title is certainly misleading, yeah.

I haven't read much Black Panther, so I can't comment on it. The Iron Man comparison is a bit unfair, you could go on and say that every hero with a powersuit is an Iron Man rip-off with that logic. I've been enjoying the title a lot though, definitely one of the better Bat-books. David, as a character, is pretty cool too.

    No.

Any Iron Man/Black Panther jab is ridiculous. Judging the book by it's cover. I didn't expect to like the character or book, not only do I love those both. I really love Massacre.

    You've got it right.

People coming up with these Black Panther/Iron Man jabs simply aren't reading the title, because if they where they'd recognise that the similarities are tenuous at best.

There's a lot of white superheroes in DC and Marvel fighting crime in the United States. Does that make them a ripoff since they're the same race and same country?

no, i really can't see a comparison with Black Panther other than they both (have) work(ed) in Africa and are black.
