    Career

    Dave Hunt began as an artist with painting exhibitions in the mid-1960s. He got involved in comic books in 1972, when he began to work for Marvel, with whom he remained for several years during which time he worked on titles such as Spider-Man, Captain America and the Fantastic Four, among others. He left Marvel in 1978 and began working with DC for whom he inked titles including Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes, Wonder Woman and DC Comics Presents, among others. He continued working for DC into the mid-1980s. In 1987 he began working on the Transformers comic book series, remaining with that title until 1989. He began working for Disney in 1991, and though he left the following year he was involved in the production of several important Disney properties, including The Little Mermaid, Darkwing Duck and Beauty and the Beast. In the mid-1990s he worked for Tekno Comix as the inker on Mr Hero. Also in the mid-1990s he returned to Marvel. In 2000 he returned to DC to ink a Scooby-Doo story.  

    Personal Life

    David Hunt was born in New Jersey in 1942. His father was an amateur artist, and encouraged the young David to draw, instilling in him a love of drawing. Hunt initially intended to go to university to become a research scientist. However, he found that his calling lay in art, and gave up his scientific pursuits to study art. He is an amateur speleologist and geologist, as well as an accomplished painter. He has at least one son, Ben.
