In the first movies, episodes 4, 5, and 6, Vader was a complete badass. 
Then. When the prequels came out we got to see what Vader was like before Vader.
Well. It turns out Anakin was a whiny b*tch that complained all the time and wanted everything done his way. 
 
Now when I watch the original trilogy and I look at Vader, I just see the face of whiny Anakin inside there.
I can't help to think that Vader was once a whiny b*tch.
Kind of sucks.

Yes, even in Episode 3 when he starts to have balls, the first thing he does as Darth Vader is piss and moan about his wife

I thought episode 1 was the worst Anakin could get.....but.....no Hayden christensen's acting is laughable and he's written very poorly ....
 
so yeah....a little bit, but for the most part Vader is badass

I despised Anakin's portrayal in episodes 1 and 2, but I thought he was decent enough in Revenge of the Sith. Minus some of the drama regarding saving his wife and being whiny about the Jedi Council I thought that was generally how Anakin should've been like. I guess he could've been portrayed a bit more heroically but at the same time he needed to be shown as a conflicted character for various reasons that would ultimately lead him to falling to the dark side and becoming Darth Vader.
