Creation

Darth Plagueis was created for use in the Star Wars franchise, including video games, novels, comics books, as well as other forms of media. The first appearance of Darth Plagueis was in Star Wars: Tag & Bink II which was released in April of 2006.

Major Story Arcs

Darth Plagueis, a Sith Lord, was known for his unique ability to manipulate midi-chlorians. He was obsessed with the notion of eternal life, causing him to experiment with the Force. He was able to use this new power to heal and even bring back the dead. Darth Plagueis trained Darth Sidious with the hopes of ruling the galaxy side by side with him. Unfortunately, this never came to pass. In 32 BBY, after the Battle of Naboo and the eve of Sidious' ascension to Chancellorship, Plagueis was murdered by his apprentice in his sleep. Plagueis could save others from dying but he could not save himself.

Darth Plagueis can be rumored to be the father of Anakin Skywalker because of his ability to create life using the Force.

Powers and Abilities

Plagueis is master of the esoteric and the unnatural aspects of the Force. With it he is able to control the essence of life. This is power that Palpatine believes is directly tied to his inward sight. He can save others from death, kill others by making there midi-chlorians return to the force and when his power is applied to the extreme he can create new life from the midi-chlorians found in all lifeforms.

Plagueis proved to be a master manipulator of both the Force and politics, manipulating the inner workings behind the scenes for years in order to achieve the goal of eventually taking control of the galaxy. Plagueis was obsessed with the prospect of immortality, and performed experiments on countless subjects and species in order to fully understand midi-chlorians.
