Guardian Devil
The Story:
Matt Murdock's life seems to be taking many unpleasant turns as his girlfriend Karen Page has left him. Not long after that he is given an infant child to protect from the child's mother claiming this child is humanity's savior. Matt Murdock's law partner Foggy Nelson is accused of a crime and arrested. Daredevil seems to be losing his sanity as he attacks his former lover, the Black Widow. Unable to figure out why these things are happening to him he goes to Doctor Strange for answers. Bullseye is hired by the mastermind behind this plot to go and kill the baby. He ends up taking a life although it isn't the baby who he kills. Daredevil discovers who was behind everything and brings them to justice. After all these events, Matt Murdock's life will never be the same again.
My Thoughts:
I have to start by saying I loved this comic. Kevin Smith did an excellent job writing. This comic is dialogue-heavy so if that's something that bothers you then you may want to take that into consideration. Personally I don't mind that and found it to be a plus while reading this. The story is well written and has a lot of meaning. Throw that on top of Joe Quesada's brilliantly done artwork and the outcome is one hell of a comic book. I was completely blown away by the art throughout this comics entirety. The colorists did an excellent job on this one. I'm not going to spoil it but the person behind the plot here was completely unexpected. I would never have expected this villain to be coming after Daredevil like the way he did in trying to drive Matt Murdock mad. I really can't think of anything negative to say about this honestly. This is one Daredevil comic you must read whether you're a big fan of him or not.
