Protagonist of the Devil May Cry video game series. Son of the legendary demon Sparda, his powers and abilities are as well known as his carefree persona.
The trailer wasen't exiting, but I liked the gritty feel and it xould be a cool game, though im not getting my hopes up so early.If you ask me I would prefer to see a game based on Sparda rather than a reboot set in an alternate world.
@Sexy Merc: Well... Alternate DC earths' characters resemble their canon counterparts. Besides, I don't really read alternate DC U stories, outside of Kingdom Come.

I'm afraid that I will love the game-play and hate the story... Is that a chain sword? As in they hated Nero so much they gave his defining attribute to Dante?

I wouldn't know. DMC4 was the first and only DMC game I've played(I know I'm awful) the Dante parts made me want to check out the original and 3rd game(I know the 2nd is suppose to suck)
I think the majority of people who saw this went "huh"? Then people either bashed it, bashed it then grew to like it, or liked it altogether. Can you guess which one I did?
@Acer: Yeah I know that. The whole 'new Dante' look just surprised the hell outta me. A lot of people, including myself, wanted the continuation of DMC 5, and not a complete reboot. But I'm on the fence with the whole new idea anyway.
@Britt601: Im with you, but you have to remember this is a different company making his game so those who worked on the past games may have something in the works. Im still hoping for a game based on Sparda. Though I wanna see Onimusha 5 before DMC5

I can't see any need for a DMC reboot, but I guess they could class it as an alternate prequel. That would make more sense.
But even from that little clip there's just too much wrong with it... why not just use a new character or create some sort of spin-off? It would be easier for the fans to accept instead of completely reworking the main character like that.
