Herla, Herlenkönig, Hellequin and, to finish it up, Alichino or Arlecchino… These are just some of the many names which, ever since medieval times, have designated the King of the Dead, the condottiero of a ghastly army that periodically emerges from the nether world to bring devastation and terror on earth.
