When the last redoubt of the Muslim kingdom of Al-Andalùs had almost fallen in the hands of the Christian armies during the “Reconquista”, the Master of the Night, Vathek, sealed his lair on the mountains of Sierra Nevada, imprisoning the rebel undead Zaldivar Mundo and his beloved Soledad and inflicting on them an enduring agony. After more than five centuries, Mr Raffer, a rich criminal businessman, finds the “Lodge of the Dusk”, where he decides to stage an expensive show for his spoiled and wealthy customers: a duel between two vampires.
