This thread is simple. If you hate Damian Wayne, explain why, and if you love Damain Wayne, explain why.
I welcome any and all opinions.

Damian Wayne
Character » Damian Wayne appears in 1653 issues.
Damian Wayne is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. Trained by the League of Assassins all his life, Damian joined his father’s side in the war against crime by becoming the fifth Robin.
Why do you love/hate Damian Wayne?
He's BATMAN's son, and is definitely worthy to be his father's seed. The kid is totally badass. PLus he gives dick a hard time and dick has been pissing me off lately.
" This thread is simple. If you hate Damian Wayne, explain why,He was unnecessary, he inflicted a OMD on Talia Al'Ghul and Ras. He's an annoying little twerp who deserves a firm smack in the back of the head.

What has Damian done recently that made him annoying? Just asking.
I aksed this question on another site and most of the people there agreed that he was (originally) intentionally made to be an annoying punk in his first appearance. Then in B&R Morrison put a personality on him, yet people still think of him as an annoying punk. Despite all the improvments he's made. I guess first impressions are everything. ;)
He's Too Damn Annoying to Be Bruce's Flesh and Blood... And He's Super Obnoxious, Not Batman-Family Material.

I like him. In his first appearances he was portrayed as a chauvinistic, overconfident punk. As the son of Talia that's exactly how he should be portrayed. Slowly he's become more humble and human and I love his interaction with Grayson. The bit where he was wondering if they'd still be Batman and Robin was very well done.
Damian you have Jake Fury approval!
I hate him, he disgraces the Robin mantle by killing people, He killed a guy named the spook (i think) in his first appearence and killed another guy in the New 52. Robin is suppose to be a character that does not kill. I admit his temper tantrum at the dinner table scene in his first appearence was funny because Batman scared the crap out of him, but since then hes been utter rubbish. I prefered that Tim Drake was still Robin, Damian needs to vanish from the DC universe forever.
I love Damian. He's the best character to come out of comics in the last 10 years s far as I'm concerned. He adds so many dimensions and potential stories and plotlines to Batman. It feel like he rejuvinates the entire Batman universe.
Character-wise, I think that the fact that he's so unlikeable is what makes me love him so much. He can be a complete and total brat (he's 10 - doesn't excuse the behavior but it explains it). But those moments where it shines through that he's human, he's insecure, and he is trying to be better just mean the world for his character and really make up for anything that's wrong with him tenfold.
I hate his personality, i hate that Bruce has become so hypocritical about him in B&R, i hate how he belittles everyone, and I hate that he gets away with it. That being said, i find that his presence creates a very interesting dynamic in the Bat-family. I think i would like him more when he got older and stopped being such a little brat. He feels he is entitled to everything when he has to earn it, and that will only happen when he changes. When he changes, i will like him more.
@primepower53: I hate Damian, hes a disgrace to the Robin legacy, the batman legacy and the bafamily itself. He murders people, hes done this at least twice, one in pre 52 and one in new 52 that i know of. Hes the apple that has fallen far from the tree, even Jason didnt kill anyone when he was Robin. I am least than thrilled with the little shit, hes not worthy of being Robin and Batmans son, screw the writers who wrote him, and i laugh that jason nearly kills him in battle for the cowl, the little crap thinks he can take on jason when he got his ass handed to him. Hes a pompous foul mouth little crap who thinks hes better than everyone because hes batmans son, someone needs to retcon him into not existing.

That's exactly what I think as well. In his first appearance, I despised his behavior. However, that's what was intended. It left room for character development. As we see now in Batman and Robin, Damian is a more complex and likable character than he was in Batman and Son.
At this point he comes across as far more annoying than interesting, he needs to evolve or removed to make time for better characters
Anyway, Carrie Kelly would be a better Robin than Damian even if shes in a different universe. Her depiction in The Dark Knight Returns was way better than Damian in any of his portrayals.
He is a ten year old, HUMAN kid. He is written like he has super strength or something as he beats opponents that are way out of his league. But most of all, and this applies to all Robins. I do not like the damn Robins, can't we get a more solo Batman for a little. Why this endless McBat franchise junk..... one can only dream. I will only like him once he dies and is not resurrected or gets his own title and goes as far away from Gotham as possible, and hopefully takes whoever is going to be the next boy wonder with him.
/end rant

@Mercy_: sorry, but i really dont like him, hes just a waste of space in the dc universe.
Hmmm are you telling that to us or are you reassuring yourself? Jason pushed a dude off a building during his Robin days IIRC.
He is a 10 year old kid who was put through extensive training and trained to kill since he was 3 I believe, did you expect him to be stable?
@entropy_aegis: Not its just common knowledge that damian is the worst character in the DCU and the worst Robin. Anyway, Jason spooked the guy, it was never proven that Jason pushed the guy, so its pretty obvious that the guy got scared and fell.

If the knowledge is that common then why does every single one of your posts has to hammer that point repeatedly? yes I'm sure a 12 year old in his undies is gonna spook someone...
@entropy_aegis: well i keep saying that because you keep saying jason murdered that guy but he didnt, he didnt start killing scum until after he was resurrected. And anyway Jasons rage can be pretty scary, people filled with rage tend to scare people you know, and as you probably know jason was enraged about what that guy did.
I'm not sure how I feel about Damian, mostly because I haven't read a lot of stuff with him in it. The concept behind the character is interesting, but I didn't really get pulled in to the early stuff with him. Haven't read Batman and Robin, but it looks like character development hit pretty well and the character seems to have grown pretty well. He at the very least has some very good moments for better or worse.
i just cant wait for him to die and never come back, and we can all celebrate that hes gone forever.
