Damian Wayne
Character » Damian Wayne appears in 1874 issues.
Damian Wayne is the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. Trained by the League of Assassins all his life, Damian joined his father’s side in the war against crime by becoming the fifth Robin.
Off My Mind: Is Damian Wayne Ready To Join A Team?
Being Robin, tradition practically states he needs to be in the Teen Titans. Having a Boy Wonder on the team just makes sense. The question is, would they want him?
First of all, Damian is not a teen. Perhaps that could be overlooked. The main issue will be is the rest of the team ready for Damian? He's not easy to get along with. Would Damian settle for being just another member? Would he be willing to take orders from anyone on the team? He can barely take orders from Dick Grayson. Would Damian reveal who his parents are?
What will happen when Damian and the Teen Titans come together?

Pure entertainment.
Damian is such a little $#!% that he makes you want to reach into your comic and choke him or something. Not that I'm condoning choking annoying ten year olds. Damian almost acts like he's royalty. In the world of masks and capes, he practically is. Regardless of his parentage and however many years of training he's had with the League of Assassins, he's still just a kid. He hasn't been doing the "superhero" thing for that long. He may be wearing the mantle of Robin, but technically, Bruce never bestowed that upon him.
Damian will add a new dynamic to the Teen Titans, if they can put up with him. Having him around will definitely help Wonder Girl and Superboy evolve into more mature and experienced heroes. They will have to practice lots of patience when it comes to Damian. It will also be interesting to see how Damian and Ravager interact.
I don't really see Damian as a long term member of the team. It's never really been said that he'd officially be joining them. When Bruce Wayne officially returns, this could be something he'd like to see so Damian could gain experience from others closer to his age. Bruce will be heading his new team, "Batman, Inc." but in a recent interview with Grant Morrison where he listed several members on the team, he neglected to mention Damian. Maybe Bruce feels Damian isn't ready to be part of that team even though Squire was mentioned as part of it.
Either way, it should be entertaining to see if Damian will join the Teen Titans and how many panels it will take until he tries claiming the leadership role.
I really don't think that he's ready for the Teen Titans yet...he should have to work his way up to that....I'm tired of the rest of the superhero community seeing the Teen Titans as a training group....they should be treated as the experienced heroes that most of them are
Damian is the "Son of the Batman" and was trained by the "League of Assassins"!!!! He can't be anymore ready to join the Titans.
I think i'm one of the only people to like Damian because he is such a little S**t lol he reminds me Jason Todd. [i know that ended well]
I think he does need a team just not the Teen Titans i think maybe he he should start his own team kinda like Tim did with Young Justice, he already has a team mate in Abuse maybe thats what will happen, Teen Titans wont be able to handle Damian he gets prissy leave makes his own team....just putting it out there.
I like that a bunch of teens got to deal with a ten year old brat. That's good writing at it's finest. Damian on the team is a win-win situation. We all know he can handle himself. Plus, you know the team will get into som jams and he will have to bail them out too. Would I would like to see, is for him to fall in love with Wonder Girl or something. Who at ten years old didn't have a crush on some older hotness? AWESOME. There's so much you can do with this character on the team. I can't wait.
If it was the ol Damian I'd say not a chance in hell. Since it's the current Damian I'd say... not a chance in hell. I doubt it'll last more than a couple after those two, or even past those two. To quote the synops: "Damian might not want to join you, he's more than happy to lead you!" ^_^
" He's as ready now as he ever will "
Agreed; I don't see his personality changing

Agreed. Though his character would be too stubborn to quit if he ever got in, I think. But I don't think Damian would take the Teen Titans seriously - too much like the girl scouts. I think he wants to be his father's son and nothing else (who as you may recall from JLA, isn't exactly a team player either). To quote the synops: "Damian might not want to join you, he's more than happy to lead you!" ^_^

"And maybe Scarlet. Be one messed up team of kiddies...
Damian's was annoying at first when he appeared, but now...I like the little bastard. He's smart, arrogant, and a genuine prick who doesn't take lip from anyone. Sure, he'll probally create a lot of problems for the titans, but it makes for great entertainment and storyline situations.
I'm excited by the new Teen Titans creative team but a bit skeptical about Damian. I have no doubt they can tell good and interesting stories with him. My only issue that is that his biggest draw is that he's the character you love to hate and I'm not sure how sustainable that is as a character archetype. It seems like such characters are inevitably turned good at the sacrifice of what make them compelling in the first place or conversely stuck and unable to grow as a character (somehow still being a jerk despite tons of situations that should have matured them beyond it). I tend to see Damian's lifespan- at least as Robin- as inevitably limited.
I haven't read much of Batman lately, but I can't picture Damian in any kind of team. On the other hand some itme with the Titans might help him to calm down and reduce his attitude problems.
Anyway I disagree about saying that he would never be more ready, he might have Batman's and Talia's DNA and the training of the League of Assassins, but this doesn't necessarily makes him suited to be on a team, otherwise Cassandra Cain should be the leader of her own team by now. Plus it looks to me that he has zero social skills aside from intimidation.
" I'm betting that he will try to take over the team in his first appearance in the Teen titan's series. By the way, I thought you have to be a teen to join the Teen Titan's? "How old is Beast Boy these days? Cyborg and Starfire were hanging out with them before they left for the JLA (and REBELS). I do agree that he may be a tad young but he makes up for it.
Of course he is. I can see it now, Damian having to be drugged because he's afraid to fly so they knock him out to get him onto airplanes. He can have a cool van he's overly protective of.
Oh wait, you meant a team, not A-Team. I read that wrong.

He is not ready until he matures a little bit. We saw what happened when they had a violent Robin on the team.
and i stopped picking up teen titans after robin left and it went to 3.99
now that it's going back to 2.99 and robin returning i will be buying it can't wait
and i bet he will try hitting on Ravager
I've personaly like Damien since Batman & Robin#1, the kid is just such a snob it's both hilarious and obnoxious at the same time. is jabs at Tim Drake are priceless, I can only imagine how much the titans will be able to take
Well, he can't be the leader like all the other Robins. BATMAN is not the leader of the JLA because he's hard to get along with, although he's the best choice as for as strategy goes. Damian would be good as a leader from a strategic point of view, but he would be terrible for the team.
Sorry, but Damien Wayne needs an attitude adjustment. He's annoying, arrogant little bastard who's in desperate need of a serious ass kicking. Maybe then he'll come to realize he's not "all that" and start acting like a normal kid.

Maybe then he'll come to realize he's not "all that" and start acting like a normal kid. "Except he isnt a normal kid, just like Dick, Jason, and Tim weren't normal kids. He is the heir to two of the richest and powerful families in DCU and he naturally has the self-confidence someone from that background would have. He could kick all our asses and he's 10, and he thinks he is going to be Batman when he grows up.
Also, Morrison has done a good job of showing that as good as Damian is, he has a lot to learn.
Its called Teen Titans. As much as I like Damian as Robin he isn't even a teen. Teen Titans is supposed to be like a junior Justice League and its supposed to have experienced and really talented members. You can't tell me Damian is at the same level as Connor Kent or Wonder Girl or even Tim Drake
Hopefully he will be come likerble when he bumps into TT and learns not everyone cares he's Batman's biological son.
But i can imagine the trouble he is going to cause from himself when he gets on the other Titans nerves. (Why isn't Miss Martian there? I'd love to see him storm all over the tower with a beserk Megan in persuit in her White Martian shape.)
Call me crazy I think Dick and Damian should keep doin' there own thing in Gotham and Bruce should keep Tim as his sidekick and do the Justice League thang. Although I don't much care for Tim as the Red Robin dude, I don't know if its the costume or what but I've loved Tim since I was a kid, he was Robin when I was teen so we grew up together, but I just don't care for the RR mantle, sorry.
I'm definetly looking forward to seeing Damian on the Teen Titans... but I really can't see him as a long-term member. Nor can I see him easily taking orders from Cassie.
