Each week we take a close look at a comic book collectible. That means taking it out of the package. With this being "Robin Month" focusing on the delightful Damian Wayne, it's fitting for our last Toy Pick installment of the month (and year) to focus on him. We'll be looking at the Robin figure from the Batman: Li'l Gotham line based on the series by Dustin Nguyen and Derek Fridolfs.

Last month we did look at the Batman figure and just a couple weeks ago we looked at the Joker and Harley Quinn figures from the line. If you're going to have Batman, you have to have Robin, right? Batman needs a Robin (as Tim Drake once put it).

Even though he's small, right away you can see the attitude pouring off the figure. This is Damian after all.

He's not too small. He stands at about 3" while the Batman figure is just a tad over 4". These figures have a good amount of articulation. The arms move up and down as well as out. His writs rotate as well.

He comes with a molded cape but it has a nice look to it.

He comes with a clear plastic stand. You can see he is able to stand without it. He also comes with a couple baseball bats. The ends by the handle pop off so you can slide them into his hands. The only problem I found was if you try having him holding the bats down, the tops want to slide right off. It can be positioned that way. You just have to be careful and a little patient.

Why baseball bats? Why not? Maybe he's practicing to be a real BATman?

What can he use the bats for?

Since it's the holiday season, perhaps we should avoid the violence.

Hugs not visits to the hospital, right?

You can see how the figures all compare. There's only four figures in the line. It'd be great if we could see more.

You can get this figures at your local comic shop or directly from DC Collectibles' online shop. Actually, it appears some are currently out of stock. If you search for "Li'l Gotham" you end up on THIS PAGE. Harley isn't even listed and Joker is out of stock. Looking on Amazon, you can get Harley HERE (only five left in stock!), Joker HERE, Batman HERE, and Robin HERE.

BATMAN: LI'L GOTHAM was a great series and these are great figures. There aren't too many Damian Wayne figures available so here's your chance to celebrate ROBIN RISES: ALPHA, which just came out.

Who doesn't want to recreate this touching moment?

Let us know what you think of this figure (and the others). We'll have another installment real soon. Perhaps we'll venture back into the LEGO territory next time.

Robin is the best looking Lil Gotham figure so far. Two baseball bats is an odd choice though.

Batman looks slightly squeezed. Kinda like squeezing a 4:3 movie into the 16:9 format.

I bought this figure on the release date, and it's a great design; it works well as a regular Damien or Tim Drake next to a regular sized Batman figure. My only criticism is in regards to the baseball bats. They were a pain in the ass to "assemble," and every time I moved Robin, they fell apart. For the uninitiated, each bat handle inserts into the rest of the bat. However, the point of insertion doesn't allow for an exact, tight fit.
