    'The Sword of Dagar' and 'Castle of the Skull' seeming strangely familiar...One way that Gold Key comics really distinguished themselves was by the cover art. Most of their titles featured painted covers that looked more like the covers of paperback novels, or pulp magazines than comic books. And, while the cover of Dagar the Invincible #1 is hardly one of the best Gold Key covers, it was good enough to be reprinted twice.Dagar was Gold Key's barbarian hero.
